Good for you, I like your initiative. Let me see your business plan and possible locations you're considering and we'll talk. Nudes of your gf or mom wouldn't hurt, either. Good luck, young man...
I cannot PM you for some reason. I will say my state is NOT legal as of today, but will be legal (100%) within a few years for retail sale. So I have some time. But I need to start figuring it out. You know what, I put abit more thought into it. Not a lot. Baby steps. But.
All the Best Clones and Seed Company. Start taking cuts from confirmed good plants from confirmed good breeders, let me think. My numbers may be way off. One clone for 100, three for 250. Have close out sales and stuff periodically. Wouldn’t take too many of those to make an honest living.... the seed side, just pick TEN great breeders/breeders that SELL. Ie inhouse, exotix genetics, ethos sells very well, have a few autos, maybe mephisto. I don’t need to be a seedsman or vault with 80,000 seeds. Research the top sellers, and do those. I don’t know how to get into the seed game though. Do I contact the companies with my aspirations and hope they bite? Very unfamiliar with that. I won’t even need a shop for the operation in mind. Maybe a larger grow space for the mothers of the clones. But... hey man. It’s a start. Thanks for peaking my interest even further.

Go work for a big painting crew. You need to start making some better money first. That will help your confidence......then you can open up to new ideas.
Sucks man. People think I’m full of it or whatever speaking of the low wages 10-13 a hour as best, but in rural farm towns, if you aren’t raising and selling livestock or crops, you work at Walmart or gas stations or the two factories down the road or you drive an hour to... 10 factories. No one where I live makes money smoking weed on YouTube, or doing yoga, or any of that other weird, semi thrilling, things people do to make money. Skydiving instructors etc. don’t have that here. Well, just move. Eh. All my family is here. Don’t wanna go anywhere else. Surely there’s a way besides farming or a doctor degree to make good money in rural areas....

You have factories and a walmart?

Dude I actually had to call in late one day because a damn cow was blocking the road. Don't make excuses. Imagine if you moved and didn't have family to help when you need it. Ask me how I know.....you can make it better. But you have a kid that needs you. Learn to weld everyone needs that with so many farms.

Just like in the gold rush, the real money is in selling to the folks doing the work. Picks, pans and shovels made lots of store owners rich in the gold fields. Pots, ferts, soil mixes, tents, lights, etc, etc, are making folks millionaires right now. The lazy part is what will make making real money a challenge. (I speak from experience on that subject)
Where do you live?
Small grow shops go out of business all the time here in WA because the idea of selling picks & shovels to gold miners isn't exactly a new concept.
Charging full retail is a good way to go bankrupt in less than a year. You'd be lucky to get a 15% markup.

Work your way up in a factory. Its a decent career if you can handle the monotony. Or just be a weed smoking yoga guy on YouTube..

How? Grow and make a lemonade stand outside my house? I’m being more silly than dick, I promise lol. I just mean like renting a building is what.... thousand bucks a month? Sell the buds off the 4 plants I can grow legally? That doesn’t seem very profitable. Can people with a “business” (a tax paying, “real” business) grow more plants? How does that work? I don’t care to grow for someone, but not for shitty wages while they sell my primo for big bucks. But I also don’t know anyone to back me. Are there “investors” out there that I could “google”? I hope I’m saying what I mean coherently, pretty ripped. . . . . .
The laws and fees are different in each state. From what I hear they add up in a hurry. If you have many hiccups you might lose money.

What you need is a time machine. Folks could make a living growing 10-12 years ago in the gray medical market. On the west coast especially. Now because of back yard gardeners, in places like Oregon especially, weed is the new zucchini. You can't give it away.

People who have been growing for a living for their whole adult like are having to do value added to make it worthwhile. They squish, or make hash, or other extracts. A buddy posted on IG his wife and kids sitting in front of the TV after supper fill carts.

Carts aren't even worth it anymore if you're anywhere legal... unless you can off em for under 25 a pop. Here in MI growers are on the comeback. Med prices are crazy on flower.. even crazier if you go buy rec

Here in NW Florida all the growers shop at the farmers' Co-Op. But in legal states, if you can get 18 year olds to pay 200 bucks for a hundred dollar light, you don't have to sell that many. And it's not just kids that overpay for grow related stuff. Folks who you would think have good sense pay two prices for something just because it has a 420 related name.

Florida medical is much the same. Not sure of size, but Sister went by today and got 3 carts for a hundred bucks. Flower is from 40 to 60 bucks an eighth.

I went though one pretty quick. Now I do a hybrid. I'll do a couple of three puffs on the vape, then a few on the bowl. I've been able to cut back to a reasonable burn rate. (other than a couple of dry spots in the garden, I haven't spent money on smoke in a long long time. But it seems worth it if I can keep it under a hundred bucks a month)

Long story short, mid to late 20s and no major skills or college credits. Bit of a lazy stoner I guess.

anyway it’s time to do something to make more than 10-13 bucks an hour. Gotta be a way. What can I do for two years or so to make money with cannabis? I can grow well. But I don’t have money to start a business. Nor the knowledge how to. I want to use my skills to make money but don’t know how to get started. Any ideas?

thanks

Anything cannabis-related is tough. Lots of people think they have the necessary skills — and in most cases, they’re wrong.

Realtors are in the same boat.
“I know the area and can sell stuff, so why not?” :dunce:
Its not as easy as everyone thinks more people fail at gardening than succeed.....and it takes lots of cash to do it right...
