Flower day 3. Inspecting for herms and come across this. Is this a herm or it just the beginning of a new leaf?

Relax. Give it time it will show it's sex. A herm shows both sacs and calyx and it doesn't sound like you have either.

It was a tiny lower leaf that was shaded by the upper canopy
