Canna coco

If you use perlite, recommend rinse away all the dust before adding to your coco.

I rinse out the fines.
I agree! Cleaning out your perlite before use can be a mess but it'll help prevent perlite sludge in your coco. Unwashed perlite will leave behind a paste from the fine particulates mixed with water.

You can run with or without perlite. Once the plants are rooted they won't care either way.

I'd also recommend buffering your coco pre-use. Flushing the coco with a low EC calmag solution will also help rinse out the fines, as well as prime the cation exchange sites with calcium and magnesium while displacing potassium and sodium.

I thought Canna a Coco already came pre-washed & buffered
Correct, canna is pre buffered, BUT it might not be set to the EC you want. Depending on if you are putting seeds/seedlings or clones into it, that might matter to you. So I'd dump a bunch of nutrient solution through it that is set to the PPMs and PH you want, whether that be 200, 300, etc. Canna's EC can be somewhat high sometimes, like .8 or 1.0-due to the calcium nitrate they buffer it with.

Can I just fill up the 1gal fabric pot that I’m gonna use and run a bunch of .7EC through it then add my seedling? Would that be a wash?

Mate on inert substrates you are just cleaning it . Wash it with ph water and pot and then feed as normal

What’s your method for washing out coco
I'll take a container and flush it with a low EC calmag solution. Whether a stater pot or 3 gallon cloth pot both full with coco. This buffers the coco, rinses out fines, and helps give you an idea of how compacted wet coco gets. I usually add more coco to a container during the pre charge.
