Car Questions Lexus ES 350

I'm thinging about buying this 2018 Lexus ES 350. I have two questions
1.) Do car dealerships accept credit card payments of 8k for down payments??
2.) Car I'm looking at sat on the lot for 6 months, is this bad for the car??

Depends on the dealership, but almost everyone I've worked for has employees driving used cars home when they feel like it. If its a nice car it hasn't been sitting the entire 6 months. Employees tend to drive the nicer cars more than the econoboxes but they're supposed to rotate them to ensure cars don't sit around for too long. The only thing that can get hurt from sitting around for a few months is the battery but any good dealer should be checking and charging the batteries periodically.

Only put 50 miles on it in 6 months probably from other test drives.

This dealership sells Honda's as I said this is the only Lexus on the lot.

Yeah, could be. Before you buy it, insist that they perform a battery check and show you the results. Batteries are covered under the new vehicle limited warranty by some manufacturers, not sure if Lexus covers them. Most Lucy car warranties are 4 years/50k miles (whichever comes first) so depending on the original sale date and mileage it may still be under warranty. Are you buying the car from a Lexus dealer? I personally wouldn’t buy a used vehicle from a different brands dealership. If you have any specific questions lemme know and I can do my best to answer. I worked in the service department for a few luxury dealerships for the better part of a decade so I know a thing or two about the process.

It was serviced at a Lexus dealership for the first 2.5 years then the Honda dealership bought it 6 months ago. It has basically 15k miles and 15 months left on the warranty. When the Honda dealer took it in 6 months ago this is what they did:
Vehicle serviced
  • Pre-delivery inspection completed
  • Recommended maintenance performed
  • Vehicle washed/detailed
  • Four tires balanced
  • Four tires mounted
  • Drivability/performance checked
  • Four wheel alignment performed
  • Cabin air filter replaced/cleaned
  • Outside mirror glass replaced
  • Safety inspection performed
  • Brakes serviced
  • Oil and filter changed
  • Emissions inspection performed
  • Emissions or safety inspection performe

Looks nice! Yeah I never had car issues (knock on wood).. My first car I owned on my own was a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GT and I loved that car. My car now is a 2009 Lincoln MKZ. Nothing is wrong with it, but it won't last forever. I will sell it online and get about 5k which is better than driving it another few years and something big going wrong.
