Biden's decision to cancel Keystone is one the US will eventually regret.

They never stopped working.

They weren’t designed to freeze (because Texas was trying to saving a buck)

They could have detected ice, turned off, heat up, and melted the ice off. Resume producing electric. Its really really that simple

solar farms HAHAHA what a fucking laugh! They performed real well during the last freeze, right next to the still wind turbines.
Solar panels, like all semiconductors function more efficiently at low temperatures. Provided my panels don't have snow on them, they perform better in the winter. The sixty six 1.2MW wind turbines near us operate at 13 RPM. Here's a chart to illustrate what kills birds.

Windmills are designed to shut down over imbalance issues. Like, you know, freezing rain and snow accumulation.

How well did natural gas do again.....?
Actually, ERCOT didn't buy any winterizing options for their wind turbines because they were sure they'd never need them.

It's the same reason all the gas lines froze.

And which means the oil is going to go to Texas by truck and train as it has been. On the bright side (spewing carbon in the air to move it) the trucker jobs and all the train employees will probably breathing a sigh of relief.

why can't we make it all electric?

simple ideas aren't for Texas- the state is almost blue but they have to deal with Texas red and it's a losing combination.

i can't get a drivers license in Colorado Blue but closer to purple, because they changed out of state license requirements..they have to be those new with the star and pics of you front and back. guess what? i have that license but because 'Florida' is not on the DMV list they won't take it..must be on the list. first time waiver for MMJ license you can use your valid out of state license?..nope they EM me back and say 'you need Colorado license or ID' i EM them back and said i'm using first time waiver program with my valid out of state license..'you don't qualify'..what are the qualifications? 'you need a Colorado drivers license or ID.

The Keystone deal had in it that all the energy needed to pump the oil to Texas would be from renewables. What really does not change is that the oil companies that own the refineries have money sunk in Alberta and effectively they are just moving their oil down to another plant to get processed. It is going to go down no matter what. The canceling of the pipeline is mainly optics. You don't hear much about shutting down the pipline from Texas to New York. Sure would reduce the US's carbon footprint.
