Toys that made us!

Insane the things we destroyed as kids. The Space Oddessy Eagle I tried to fly with Este's rocket motors. Or the original Star Wars figures we fought with pellet guns.

Yet here is the toy to me that helped truly make me. Over 40's old, needs some TLC, but I have it still. And a fun switch blade lighter from the 80's. Still illegal here.

TY to all. I feel old. Carved sticks and steam until Erector and the ultimate, LEGOS. LOL. View attachment 4846141
I had one of these but I don't remember mine having a spoon or fork.
Maybe they made two versions? Either that or I'm just trippin' lol

My family didn't have a lot of money growing up, but my dad randomly bought me a Nintendo while we were walking through the mall to get shoes one night. No birthday, Christmas, whatever reason. It was even on a school night. It was the most ballinest move I had ever seen.
Similar here my dad put it on layaway at caldors or service merchandise for what seemed like for a year lol

Yup, I went through a few of those exact same. Those were a must have when
you were a kid lol.
Mine were older models. No plastic or rubber bands. Made the 150 mile round trip worthwhile with my Dad as he drove 40MPH looking for another barn find on the way to the model train shop. A lot of Scotch tape before next visit. LOL.

Brilliant marketing for NHRA.

I had those two sealed in original card about 20 years ago.
I had about 30 Redlines on card inside a custom Plexiglas case I built with my dad together.
For some reason I've always liked Redlines bare without the stickers on them. I thought they looked better
that way. In most cases the stickers made them more valuable on or off the car but that doesn't matter to me.
Awesome pic and post btw!

Several of my parents weird hippy friends got dubbed stinkor as they smelled so strongly like patchouli.

Nintendo became the end all be all as a kid, but there was this time I went to Mexico and bought a big pile of machetes to hand out to the other 4th graders. We bushwacked trails and built forts and managed to not lose fingers.

Ok, I know I'm out of control again with the excessive posts so I will stop. :p
Sure is interesting seeing everyone's posts though, brings back the 'ol
carefree days of our childhood.

If you have kids, I would imagine it's still fun enjoying (games and toys of yesteryear) as an adult with
the kids. :D

Man the things I broke jumping one of these in the house.
I had one that was a little bigger, but those things were indestructible. I used to rocket mine off of my parent's two story porch onto a rocky creek bed, over and over. I gave mine to my son and it also survived his childhood. I want to see if it can make it through three generations.
