RIGHT-CENTER BIAS
These media sources are slightly to moderately conservative in bias. They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor conservative causes. These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Right-Center sources.

  • Overall, we rate The Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) Right-Center biased based on left-leaning views regarding social issues and far-right views pertaining to economics. We also rate them Mixed for factual reporting based on not supporting the consensus of science regarding climate change.

I opened the article but was disappointed by the incredible obtuseness of the economists trying to be historians. Rome lasted 2000 years, the US, about 200 and we almost lost it, first on Nov 3 and then on Jan 6. Anybody could pick one attribute of Rome and say "that's why it failed". Pick it: absurdly skewed distribution of wealth, the rise of Christianity, mass migrations, the Huns, racism, you name it, Rome had it. Those chumps just picked "welfare state" and then drew a line from that and "Rome fell", because anybody can connect two points with a straight line.

A good series that documents the history of Rome

Mike Duncan covers the History of Rome from its origin stories to the end of the Western Empire in 476 AD was his cut-off though the Eastern Empire continued into the 1400's. 197 episodes in all. Well told with good humor and a lot of detail in the goings on in Rome from the mythology of Romulus and Remus to the death of the last Western emperor. A whole lot went on in Rome and its downfall is probably not the "welfare state", which was pretty much over several hundred years before Rome actually fell. If I had to pick, I'd say the downfall began when the super rich consolidated their power over plebeians and killed their leaders who were pushing for land reforms in 130 BC. Not long after that, Julius Caesar took over and ended the Republic.

His series on Revolutions is good too.

But those economists suck.
History is best written by those without an axe to grind! Couldn't agree more, America ain't Roman and times have changed. One thing doesn't change though and that is the rich seeking, clinging to and abusing power. When Rome was flooded with slaves from conquests, the senators dispossessed the men in the army stole their land and created estates and plantations worked by slaves. Increasingly the Roman army recruited from among the provinces and not from Rome and Italy, the army became mercenary. One example of the rot of the Roman state.

Thanks.

I can't say the same for you. You did register that people who quit can't collect unemployment, didn't you? lulz
Lots of things are supposed to happen, like you reading a basic sentence and understanding it, but shit doesn't always happen the way it was suppose to. She quit and told them she was worried about her safety and they cleared her to collect. I don't know if that happened across the board, if there were so many millions of people who lost work that they were overloaded and just approved everybody or what happened. But it happened, like you not understanding basic English. Not going to spent much thought on why. lulz back at you foo.

Never mind he has zero clue on the process. The employer has a period to contest the unemployment. So there’s that hurdle.
Should try in MI. LOL. Amazing obstacles and threats of criminality and jail time just to have unscrupulous employers get you denied or indefinitely jumping through hoops.

And stimulus??? Just another hand out to the financial world. We are all giving it to the banks upon receipt pretty much.

Want a stimulus? Forgive mortgages and rent to commercial bank and investment companies since the frumptastophe began. Time to call those billions of tax and interest free FED Reserve back door infusions.

Yeah Michigan has some serious problems with people collecting unemployment. I believe it even started before the pandemic when the state tried saying a lot of folks were being fraudulent and they really weren't. I think there was a Supreme Court (Michigan's) case that the state has to pay all those people back. The unemployment system here is a real real mess

Man the history of corruption here as well as may other states. Subjected to blatant theft and denial of paid into U.E.C.. My niece got screwed with the we over paid you and now you must repay all payments plus fines and penalties. Or face prosecution. Not we made a mistake and we will be deducting the over payment from future checks. One of many scams.

I love the tax benefit per child, absolutely love it. Cut it off at 60k per household and I say keep it forever. I know people with millions in property who are getting stimulus money. The shit I’ve seen. Millions to protect workers who were never at risk. Total shame. A few years from now this is going to look even worse.

And what politician beyond Bernie would upset the house of cards they must protect for their very power and profit? Suicide to plunge the "stock market" into a crash. And irrational panic among the 86% of us who would not actually be affected.

Time for reclamation. Hard start from ethics and morals. Or business as usual.

47 million Americans voted for trump. Time for education reform. Everything else is pointless till that is fixed.
My view is finding our shared humanity and needs. Then as one we can do something. Just pissing in many directions in a hurricane until then.
