May have some validity in thinking there may be beneficial microbes.
My guess is really the warm moisture and your salivic acid just helps soften or remove the protective coat on the seed so the sprout can push out easier.

It has a nice fragrance and purifies the air when burned. You can even cook on it or heat a house.

I don't know if saliva contains "beneficial" microbes for plants. I am not aware of any study.
The moisture theory may be true but even so, you would have to carry your seed in your mouth for like a whole day before the shell of the seed softens. Either way it still is science, nothing magical about it

I vouche for using manure but it has to be at least a couple years old ! Used it for my grow and am about a week out till harvest
