Thats early in their growth to be doing that. Not reccomended. Not sure how it will turn out. Interested to hear from others.
I dont do it that early, I wait till up pot to 3 gallon pots and do it naturally in April in a hoop house to harden off to cold. Plants are knee or thigh high by then. Transplant outdoors mid late may.

I dont understand why you say "Not reccomended. Not sure how it will turn out." If you dont know the outcome you shouldn't recommend (one c in the word). I do this every year. once sex is determined females will go back on a 18/6 and revert back to veg mode and be planted in May.

How long from germination do you get a positive sec read using this method?

So you're under the impression im risking that many plants (thats just that light) and dont know what my outcome is going to be.. Really? If you noticed i never asked a "question" i simply stated what im doing which should imply i know what im doing. But hey, thanks for popping in anyway.

oh ok guy who flips to check sex
You really are stupid.. you said it yourself a plants maturity shows sex all I'm doing is speeding up the maturity rate by introducing a baby plant to a 12-12 light cycle so it will show sex why would I waste so much time waiting for nature to show me when I can induce it artificially with lights and start my veg with 3'-4' females?

Yes it will. But be careful if you have females in there already at the early budding stage and if that seed turns out to be a male you don't want to risk a pollen sac erupting and potentially fertilizing your females I would honestly do it outside of your already flowering plants. But the answer to your question is yes

Solo cups, as a first impression says a lot about a grower.
Heres my veg room for dep and full term....about 100+ seed teens 100+ sprouts
150++ clones. I made feminized seed btw.
It's hard to have absolutes in cannabis. A small plant, will sex under 12/12, and then need a pot up, change in this n that to get back to veg. Not every strain handles this stress well. You aren't saving time, but losing some days or a weeks to go back to veg growth, healthy vigorous veg growth.
I have seen strains declare female during 16 hr lights days, but in 3-5 gallon pots and chest high. Just a hair at a mid level calyx, that pale greenish white hair sticks out you know. But that only accounted for 40% of the females in that batch had to go outside during 13.5-14+ daylight to declare all the rest.
I start straight seed under 16/8 lights in feb or march, into a hoop house in april days are 13.5+ they declare 98 % (there's some last to declare plants that dont show, treat them as males dont risk pulling up a 5 pound male in August). There's no stop grow this way, stop now go back to growing this way, thats potentially 1-2+ weeks of not staying on a veg growth curve.

You don't need to induce flowering to sex plants. Plants will show sex in 5-7 weeks with a normal veg cycle. Just look at at the nodes and you will see a small pistil with a couple hairs or a sack beginning to form.

This mother plant has been under 18/6 for a year. If you look at the internodes you see pistils, this doesn't mean it's in flowering. You do not need to put them in flowering to show sex.View attachment 4863088View attachment 4863089
Why wait 7-8 weeks when i can know in 30 days? In order to wait seven or eight weeks I would definitely have to transplant to a bigger pot why waste soil on a plant that turns out to be a male? It makes more sense to me to use that 7-8 weeks for veg growth and the soil it's going to take to feel a 3 gallon pot on what I know is a female plant. Why is that so hard to understand? I actually referenced a mother plant in one of my previous conversations as an example trying to teach proper marijuana terminology. At the stage my plants are in right now in this moment a 12/12 light cycle is the ONLY way to get them to show sex.

retard move.. maturity determines sex not light cycle jackass, 12/12 cycle doesnt cause it to mature faster to show you sex. Did you just start growing?
Here's what kills me the most..the people who liked this ignorant statement. Instead of educating this shit starting, name calling misguided imbecile you add fuel to the fire he's attempting to cause by liking his comment. Nobody once chimed in with the facts and let him know that you can identify sex early in a plant's life by introducing it to a 12-12 cycle. Just more to my point the majority of you people really aren't here to help anyone you're like a gang as long as you're Avatar says "well known member" what's right and what's wrong doesn't matter at that point it becomes nothing more than defending a fellow "known member" even though everything he has stated is insulting and false.. that's why I left this forum back in 2013.

Same process from my 2013 grow. One of the plants was taller than the gutters on my house..no complaints...photos taken off computer.
