earth worm castings. Top dress -thick. Will add nutrients and beneficial microbes and create moisture lock on top of soil. All things soil needs!

It’s not science for most gardeners. It’s just nature. We really don’t have to understand it to know it works. Just think like a microbe. Try to establish the living aspect of the soil.
