There is something to be said for the fraternal order of police (their union) vs what the department itself pushes for. Worth noting is who blocks most attempts at reform or improvement.

Lol, guess I am anti union in this instance.

Sure, and they have their own valid issues too I'm sure, It'a a clusterFK, and thats why I rely on my own common sense and not THEIR training and procedure's when it's my own ass on the line when dealing w/them.ccguns

Just watched Af. American Police chief in Minneapolis, testify, he's polite, knowledgeable, and well spoken. I get confused when I juxtapose this chief, the senior man on the force a homicide LT. who testified friday, along w/the friendly/good natured disposition that is common in the state of Minnesota with the seemingly nasty, super aggressive nature of the police in the trenches as this is not the first jaw dropping incident to take place in Minnesota.ccguns
Exactly and as you can see, the further removed you are from being exposed daily to significant levels of toxicity, the easier it is to remain human. This is why, as hard as it may be, we need to spend waaaaaaaay more time helping the police, than we do demonizing them. It's easy to say fuck 'em, especially mf'ers like Chauvin, but what happens to them could happen to anyone.

That job, same with military, needs a proactive maintenance program for mental health, rather than this reactive bs where you're super lucky if someone is self-aware enough to ask for help when things are going wrong internally. Maybe they need a rotation, no more than X continuous days in the field before you need to spend X days doing admin work, or community service work. They need a mental ejaculation of sorts, to regularly purge that toxicity as a Chauvin preventative, otherwise that constant exposure to misery is going to metastasize onto the public. Unless they're in Mayberry, it's absurd to expect anything other than what we see from the police.

, I almost finished a Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, life intervened, never have had the FK the POLICE mentality, always put myself in their shoes, had many law enf. as teachers in college, inlcuding a LT, CAPT, and St. trooper det all decent guys. Many guys I grew up w/ also in law enforcement. As I said bef. I'm a semi-scary wht. caucasion 6'0 190, had many encounters w/police,used common sense ,always walked. The problem is very multifaceted and its almost inevitable that bad actors will be in the job. Professional standards units and Internal Affairs can weed some out but will never bat 1000%.ccguns

You can tell that Lt. wasn't quite down with the defense suggesting that Chauvin was following the rules.
WHO COULD, just plain torture,no viable way to rationalize Chauvin's actions,I've actually never seen the knee placed on the neck in any police restraining procedure, just on shoulder while suspect is prone to handcuff. Chauvin's technique a first for me.ccguns

Yeah it was a little slimy the way he presented that training image showing the knee on the shoulder, and called it a knee on the neck as if to imply that a knee on the neck was fine, then shows an image of a weird angle of Chauvin and calls it a knee on the shoulder, because he knows a knee on the neck is not fine. Talking out of both sides of his mouth.

Not redundant. A lot of people from various regions(and, yes, different colors) are considered Caucasian.

Preach. One can never repeat one's race, height, weight and scariness enough on a weed site. It should be mandatory. A WHITE Caucasian huh. Scary stuff right there.
The only scary thing is your trolling ass, My ht. and wgt. were in reference to the fact we're talking police interactions w/civilians and i brought up the fact that I have been pulled over and had to deal w/police more times that I can count and they hgave guns and base their decisions on your presense thats why I included that fact BITCH, now would you pleaaaase go away, you have nothing interesting to add that I can see other than trying to get a rise out of people here by provoking them, thats all I've seen from you,not one thing to intelligently add to the forum other than your 10 yr. old nahnanahnanahnananahna schoolyard BS.

This guy's testimony seems like a waste of time.
Prosecution needs to be careful,to many redundant witnesses will have jury counting sheep, visual evidence is overwhelming, steamline process, present straight up facts confidently and move on quickly, jury will appreciate the matter of factness, keep hitting them over the head w/same old shit insults their intelligence possibly causing resentment. More witnesses reinforcing same points=more opportunities for defense.ccguns

Exactly. There's another element at play where the quality of case presentation is included with the judgment. Bringing in this dude from California that's never been considered an expert witness, except in his own case?? Weird. Get him out and move on.

AC condensation doesn't come from the back of the squad car; it comes from the front. it also appeared yellow tint and led directly to Floyd's body.
