I got a rhino hobby filter for my first grow... worst mistake ever! Two plants and is smelling out the room before even budding!I was thinking about trying ipower? Or what brand do you guys recommend?
Rhino used to be good, but I've had similar experiences with them in the past few years. Haven't even tried the cheaper hobby versions, only the expensive PRO stuff. DO NOT BUY RHINO!I got a rhino hobby filter for my first grow... worst mistake ever! Two plants and is smelling out the room before even budding!
Get the better brands as mentioned above or will be spending a lot more in the long run . Learnt my lesson!
Yeah I read they were good before buying it... too bad the posts I were reading were years old LOL! I was going to look at getting the PRO stuff but seen bad recent reviews on that too! Steer clear from rhinoRhino used to be good, but I've had similar experiences with them in the past few years. Haven't even tried the cheaper hobby versions, only the expensive PRO stuff. Lol fuck, just ordered it. Let’s see how it goes....Coming from someone who made this exact same mistake, don’t waste your money.
Bought an iPower filter from Amazon, only to replace it with a Phresh filter less than a month later. Couldn’t be happier.

You ordered the iPower?Lol fuck, just ordered it. Let’s see how it goes....
Who knows, maybe they stepped their game up and you receive a decent filter. I know mine sucked ass, which isn’t good if you’re trying to contain smell...unless you’re into that sort of thing.Lol fuck, just ordered it. Let’s see how it goes....
I've been running a pair of Vivosun filters for almost two years straight. I'm going to have to swap them out after this cycle, but they are hands down the best I've ever used. The best filter there is is a strain that doesn't smell like a skunk that took a bath in diesel. My first grow was Blue Mystic. Not the most potent strain around but it smelled like cut grass clippings. Filled a 2x2 tent with no filter of any kind.
Getting some new equipment and I am rolling the dice with a Vivosun. If it fails then a local grow shop is going to make a lot of money off me when I run in to buy a Phresh on short notice.

I've been using Vivosun filters for years. The current 6 inch filter has well over a year of use. Can't smell anything until you open the tent. Then BAM! It's like a punch in the face. Some will say that they are not worth the money but they have performed the function they are intended. I haven't had any issues with smell. But I run passive intake and constantly have negative pressure. If you don't have things setup correctly you can get leaks and no filter will stop the smell if that's the case.I've been running a pair of Vivosun filters for almost two years straight. This is a little much. There are plenty of other brands that work, including Vivosun as I mentioned. I agree that bargain filters are a total waste of money. If you really care, research the different grades of charcoal and make you decision based on that.If you have an absolute need for zero odor then get a Phresh, if not, don't bother getting anything because these cheap filters are a total waste of money-this is coming from someone who learned the hard way and tried several of them.
