Lmao, I am black and live in a high crime area. The only people who like blm are the people on welfare working cash jobs, everyone else sees the value in the police.
This mentality you have only exists online or in totally white communities. There have been six or seven shootings on my block this year *that I know of*, everyone who is not a criminal is glad to have to cop cars sitting on the corner.
It is bullshit to think that there is some division between wanting cops to stop murdering people and valuing the good things that they do.
As for 'your block', how many people live on it? I think average here is about 1400 people. I have about 50 people max on my block and I hear guns going off all the time.
Are things different in Canada? Or is this an American city that you are talking about? If so congrats on the move.
Oh gee, the city the size of a couple high schools with less than 2% black people. I wonder why they don't have crime problems.
Wow. That is some fucked up shit to say.
Ill just leave it at, you are shortsighted, just because crime is not being written up by police does not mean it is not occurring.
Evidence that any murder occured instead of accidents or justified situations like a guy pulling a cellphone like a gun? See below about 18/20. Sources are the us crime stats database.
What does it matter that they are written up as 'accidents'? Policing needs to be precise and not have all these 'accidents' that wouldn't happen if a gun wasn't being pointed at another human being.
This is why your trolling of the trigger phrase 'BLM' is bullshit. Doing things better should not be a political issue. Unfortunately it is being used online to create division in our society.
First, you just dismissed the lives of 8000 black people killed by other blacks like they don't matter.
Second probably 18 out of 20 deserved it like that kid that put his hands in his pants and spun around really quick (michael brown), or the kid that tossed the gun behind the fence last week. Very few are like the "taser taser taser" cop which js probably an accident, she is a woman after all (j/k).
2/40M is 0.000005% and is vastly preferable to letting black on black crime increase to 10000 or 15000 homicides yearly. I would argue it's fine to double or triple the number of cop killings yearly if it would halve the murder rate and prevent 4000 avoidable black deaths.
Third even BLM leadership, when they have the opportunity, get as far away as possible, look at that girl moving to a mansion where it is also less than 2% black.
Nobody is dismissing anyone killed, it is a very real problem.
Unfortunately we live in a nation that has pushed our minority communities into small areas. And then through legislation, almost all the benefits of the economy kept out of these regions while simultaneously underfunding the necessary things like cleaning up the pollution left behind as white people fled to the suburbs, and that all contributes to a very unsafe environment.
All of this means that bad people who would use violence to get what they want can do a lot of damage very easily to a lot of people. So of course there is a much higher level of crime.
Making sure that everyone here is at least safe from the main group of people we collectively hire to protect us should not be a political 'sides' issue.
