I’m sure this has been asked a million times, but I’m having SO much trouble figuring out my lighting. Obviously I am a new grower. I have 2 tents. One is a 3’x3’x70” tent and the other is a 4’x4’x80” tent.

Initially I bought two lights that ended up being blurple when I plugged them up. It said full spectrum, but I think that’s bull. So now I’m back to trying to find some lights.

for my 3x3 I’m thinking of this one https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/all/products/hlg-100

The 3x3 light says it’s veg spectrum, but can I still use it to take to flower? Or will the 3x3 forever be a veg tent if I get that light? Is the light for the 4x4 good to use through all stages?

Thanks for any help. All this stuff is just super overwhelming.

I was hoping to get the lights done for under $500. Am I crazy? What I did get was a viparspectra va2000 and a va1000. Should I just stick with those for now? I just want to have a good enough yield that I can smoke on until my next batch is ready.

Invest in 1 of each for now, don’t fill the tent completly

Buy the others next run, you’ll have plenty of time in between runs.

Thanks a lot for all the info. I ended up calling HLG for help. I returned the blurple lights, and replaced them with a HLG 600 for my 4x4 and a HLG 65w bspec light for my 3x3. The 3x3 is just for vegging a mother plant. I might turn it into something else later and get a 2x2 for mama. But that’s later. Cause I’m not buying another light right now...

Man, I was really torn on this. Dude I talked to at HLG said I should roll with the 65W @4000k for her. Oh well. As long as it works.

They are great on the phone....I agree. Nice to talk to someone knowledgeable and capable of answering questions. bk78 already laughs at all my posts so I can openly admit I bought 2 Scorpion Diablo lights yesterday and they are on their way already.

I will hold off on the UV bars until other people start using them. bk78 has found some nice ones @ a good price over the HLG ones. See what happens with his first.

I like the 100's a bit better. I have 4 hanging in a 4 x 4 closet and I can turn on the ones needed when I want to

HID lighting is still great, and generally speaking much more affordable.

Amuses me how much hatred HID gets now I remember only a few years ago everyone refused to use LED because it was a newer technology and now ppl treat HID as if it's some ancient and poor technology/

hps is the shit
plus sodium lamps gives more infrared, so the canopy temp is greater than with led

it's an advantage because at the same leaf temp you get cooler rootzone with hps

Two Diablos; I'm so jealous. I was on the site yesterday in Canada and they had the 20% off up here too for 420. I didn't hit the buy button though. I'm torn between the Scorpion Diablo's and the Aussie 420's from https://growlightsaustralia.com/ but real jealous of your purchase.
