cal mag amount

my girls are in week 3 of flower and were having a deficiency problem i bought a quart of GH cal/mag it says 4ml per gallon would it hurt to double or triple that dose for the first feeding? has anyone had experience with this or should i tread lightly?

stay at 4ml/gal and if they're still showing it go to 5ml. Also depends what medium you're growing in

Don't do that. Do you have pics of what you are seeing? Also, what sort of water are you using? RO or Tap, and if tap, look up a water quality report that has stuff like PH, Alkalinity, total hardness, etc...also, see if it has the calcium and magnesium levels on it too. If you are on city water, this report is available someplace online. Always start with the water first, then look at media/nutrients.

Ro water, coco, led grow here, if I feed my plants 0.3 ec calmag they start showing deficiencies, it has to be 0.4 ec of calmag in the Ro water or my plants are not happy at all.

Symptoms, red stems, yellowing leaves between veins, brown spots etc.

P.s. go with e.c./ppm to measure how much is in there before adding the base nutrients. Sorry if I'm stating the obvious

His tab water could also contain low amounts of calcium and magnesium, my home country is like that, clean good water but low in those two minerals.

IF I use tap I do use 2ml. It's not much and ensures i'm not gonna get a cal def. My tap is absolutely horrible tho it's been years since i've used it

Do the instructions say to double or triple the amount for the first feeding? Why would you think that's ok?

More often than not plants don't need CalMag. Another internet bro-myth. Calcium and magnesium deficiencies are usually caused by overfeeding.
