Yea it’s coco and perlite I been cutting back on watering because I been overwatering and that’s when the gnats started I water every 3 days I used to water once a day it’s wet trust me when u stick ur finger in nothing is dry at all I promise lmaoI would say elevate your pots and make sure you're not overwatering, but those pots looks hella dry. Is that coco and perlite? If so that's way too dry. You want to water evenly so that the roots can spread out and stay wet.
What size pots are they. 7 gallon if so should be watering every 5 days or so.Yea it’s coco and perlite I been cutting back on watering because I been overwatering and that’s when the gnats started I water every 3 days I used to water once a day it’s wet trust me when u stick ur finger in nothing is dry at all I promise lmao
Yes that works. I've done it. They don't like neem and it won't hurt your plants. Neem oil drenches are used by many for that exact issue.Would spraying the the top of the medium with neem oil and water do the same as that?
Watering every 3 days is a good recipe for salt buildup. It's clearly bone dry at the edges. Cutting back on feeding due to gnats isn't the correct solution to the problem. You're going to do more harm letting the coco dry out than anything some fungus gnats are going to do. Gnats are more of a nuisance than anything.Yea it’s coco and perlite I been cutting back on watering because I been overwatering and that’s when the gnats started I water every 3 days I used to water once a day it’s wet trust me when u stick ur finger in nothing is dry at all I promise lmao
Ok another dumb question then. Will a little soil drench with neem oil kill the mycorrhizae I’ve just put in a about a week ago???Yes that works. I've done it. They don't like neem and it won't hurt your plants. Neem oil drenches are used by many for that exact issue.
No. Coco should be feed at least daily to significant runoff. It's not soil.So I shouldn’t be watering every three days like the bag of coco says on the back ?
It won't kill them but lack of watering in coco can lead to salt buildups and EC spiking in the medium. It's generally just unhealthy for the plants.Damn hopefully I don’t kill them I will go back to daily watering
Don't let the runoff be in contact with the pots and dispose of it immediately after you finish watering.I used to keep runoff but I read that’s what’s causing the gnat problem so I cut back
No. People use neem meal as an amendment in organic soil all the time.Ok another dumb question then. Will a little soil drench with neem oil kill the mycorrhizae I’ve just put in a about a week ago???
