As long as you don't flower them, you can take clones forever. I only go 3 generations, because I like to keep trying different strains. However, back in the day when I grew for a "living" I had a California Orange that went on for years, it was a multi-generational clone when it was given to me.

I’ve got some moms 10 months old and have made thousands of clone off of them so far and they still test well. The more I run them in a room the better they improve actually.

The whole cloning causes degradation thing is a myth. Just bro science. I flower my mothers every cycle and keep a couple of clones off of them each time. As long as the plant is healthy then you can take a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone etc. for as long as you want.

I've only gone 3 years. A few freaks and oddities in a few hundred clones. Same plant entire run.

You can clone and make clones of clones without losing potency until your cutting catches hop latent viroid (HLV) and duds out. Sometimes there is a kernel of truth to the myth.

I never understood how that one got started. Its been around a while.
That and the one about soaking marijuana roots in whiskey some way or another. The myth goes it makes the smoke more potent (I wouldn't recommend trying it).

The youngest has the most vigor. When something alive gets old it becomes weaker more susceptible to disease etc. Not magic elves. Basic biology

I grew a variety for 15years cutting off from what was planted when my veg partner moved.
Personally thought it got better over time , but surely wasn't anything less.
