When you clone something it is an EXACT replica. Age has nothing to do with anything.

Had my purple cheddar clone since 2014, still just as tasty and potent as the first run!!
If you thinks it’s going “downhill” a common tip is to take the clone or mother plant and rejuvenate it outdoors in the summer sun then either clone again or pop back into your mother room.

Trees, alligators, and fungus would beg to differ. There is a biological ceiling to how large a plant can get, but the act of cloning more or less restarts the cycle.

I think you're taking what I said wrong
I'm just saying an older plant has less vigor than a new one. Never said an old plants clones change into other strains
I think the reason some people are concerned that clones will eventually "lose something", or deteriorate over time, is because of the way they percieve clones in the first place. As stated above, clones are thought of as "an EXACT replica", or in other cases the cloning process is thought of in terms of generations. It's not about replicas or generations.
It's the same damn plant! It is literally a cutting of the same plant. There is no replicating or generating involved. We've all heard of a lizard growing a new tail - well it's kind of like that, only, in reverse. It's like a lizard's tail growing a new lizard (sort of) - just a whole lot less complicated! IT'S THE SAME DAMN PLANT!

genetic drift is a real phenomenon but that usually occurs over a long period of time...
I read a while back that a few different cuttings of famous grape wine grapes were actually the same plant mutated over time...
theoretically the grapes became different over thousandths of years....
now im assuming we are talking about vigor...
Dj suggested that if a clone got weak on him he would put it outside to kind of regenerate the roots and it would be good as new...
