Cool and I'm not infested I just see a few flying around just don't want to get infested.Oh...you already have it. Well it will work, but dont rely on it for a persistent infestation. Use that weekly or every 10 days 2 or three consecutive times. Its not advised to repeatedly drench soil with soap and oils even in emulsion.
I sure did. Just sprayed soil and kinda shift the top inch around and underside of leafs. And a nice little light spray on top.Treat now. Dont wait too long. Those pigfuckers multiply fast.
Yes. I have used thr coarse size food grade DE before for fungus gnats. You can reclaim the coarse size to use again. We used the DE as a mulch against the gnats, about a layer 1/2-1 inch.Wouldnt hurt to get some diatomaceous earth and spread that on top of your soil and possibly around the rim of your buckets and floor. Couldnt hurt!
Do you put DE on the leaves at all? Ive always wondered if people choose to do this.Yes. I have used thr coarse size food grade DE before for fungus gnats. You can reclaim the coarse size to use again. We used the DE as a mulch against the gnats, about a layer 1/2-1 inch.
Oh gawd thats a mess usually. Ive known people that tried blowing the very fine DE dust to combat spider or russet mites to no success. Seen leaf blower systems, wettable powder homemade slurry spray lol (that was a bad decision). They end up buying a spray solution very soon after using DE dust!Do you put DE on the leaves at all? Lmao yeah, I imagined it would cause some sort of slurry if the leaves ever get wet, and if the leaves dont get wet, I would wonder how much light the DE would block from getting to the leaves.Oh gawd thats a mess usually. I remember an old hippy who threw it by hand to control caterpillars though. But he did light dustings not flock the Christmas tree applications!
Yah and I did some research with that earth stuff they said this Neem Oil would be more efficient.Wouldnt hurt to get some diatomaceous earth and spread that on top of your soil and possibly around the rim of your buckets and floor. Couldnt hurt!
DE would be like a second line of defense, honestly. It doesn't cost much either.Yah and I did some research with that earth stuff they said this Neem Oil would be more efficient.
Try a lite layer of diatomaceous earth on top of soil for the gnats great organic option kills the gnats and larvae coming and going but beneficial nematodes first then diatomaceous earth after for prevention would be almost a guaranteed to kill em off in a week or soThabks honestly just made my day, its my first legit grow. I have been doing alot of reading and making sure I'm not over watering, under watering, to much nutes or not enough. My wife has been going crazy because I'm trying to be pinpoint. Woman just don't understand. LOL
Fan will mess with gnats they dont fly well.Yes I do should I turn it up a bit will a fan on high affect anythig being close?
If you mix with water and dawn dishsoap, it can be sprayed, best for spider mites. You have to rinse with fresh water a few xsDo you put DE on the leaves at all? Ive always wondered if people choose to do this.
Next time I got to lowes i will get a bag ot it to have. Thanks for the help man.Neem oil is effective at killing larvae and repelling females that want to lay. But usually not ending it completely as a stand alone choice. The DE, layer provides a sharp, dessicating and alkaline barrier against larvae that hatch and try to dig down to the soil. It was highly effective with 5 gallon pots in a greenhouse.
Good to know as many options or choices for solutions to issues.
Make sure you grab pet/human friendly de they do sell some toxic version for pools or some crap lol just FYI gotta think about sparky and the kids lolNext time I got to lowes i will get a bag ot it to have. Thanks for the help man.
