This Jack is a real confusing dude.
Lol I was lucky to ride on @TintEastwood coat tails and copy all his charts when I started with it a year or so ago. This Jack is a real confusing dude.
Lol well you can use calmag if you need it I started doing 321 in ro with 100-150ppm calmag and it was fine. Tried without calmag and a couple did get a little mag def but haven't had any issues since bumping to the 3.4 and cutting out calmagI skipped watering them today because they aren't taking up much. I was feeding them based on the runoff EC for about the 1 1/2 months, and got them up to around 1.2. Then I put them into my flowering tent. They had gotten overgrown and some of them were weak from leaning on each other in my veg room, so I was keeping it around 1.2 ec. until they seemed strong enough. Then I started noticing the mag deficiency, but not N, so I assumed part A was fine, but B an epsom were too low. I increased the EC a bit, and it didn't seem to help much. So I came here with my ratio question. I was also mixing 3/2/1, not 3.6/2.4/1.2.
But now that I'm looking at Jacks chart, it says 1.1 for clones / seedlings / young plants, and then jumps up to 2.2 for vegging plants. That makes sense of my observations. The strength was gradually raising with the young plants until it maxed out at 1.2. At that point the strength needed to double instead of continuing to slowly raise. The plants are wanting adult meals and aren't satisficed with happy meals any longer. One or two extra nuggets isn't cutting it. It's a teen and needs a large combo meal.

You do NOT need CalMag with Jack's.your base nutrient already contain enough magnesium you dont need to add much
but if you use RO you sure need calcium
get some calimagic, its based on calcium carbonate and a bit of calmag
1.2mS is not enough for vegging healthy plants
2.0-2.5mS is better
control your runoff; ph, EC
It seems to me that the 321 ratio gives them plenty of calcium if you don't dilute it down real hard like I was doing.
my numbers are for hydroponicYou do NOT need CalMag with Jack's.
Also my last run I never went above 1.2 EC all the way to harvest. A blanket statement like that is just incorrect.
The ratio stays the same regardless of the dilution. It seems to me that the 321 ratio gives them plenty of calcium if you don't dilute it down real hard like I was doing.
No the OP is growing in coco. The entire discussion has been about coco.my numbers are for hydroponic
do you use hydro ?
I made a statement you disagree with and you call me a prick and an internet tough guy? How was I being aggressive? Relax buddy, we're having a discussion.lol dwc .. you're funny
if you feed the whole grow at 1.2mS you probably have salt accumulation in your medium .. so you feed less to counterbalance your clumsy management of the medium
classic for amateur coco growers
and i bet you use DTW .. lol
i use rockwool with geotextile felt for your information .. but no matter same rules also apply to coco coir
check your runoff EC .. you will be surprised
another prick that need to be agressive to prove his point
internet tough guy
Yeah. I’m saying it has a bunch of cal as long as you don’t dilute it. My original question was about adjusting the 3 while leaving the 2 and 1 at full strength instead of diluting it overall. That was before I realized you were supposed to run it at full strength in veg.The ratio stays the same regardless of the dilution.
You should always mix it at full strength and dilute to the EC you need for your plants. Then adjust the feeds based on what your plants are showing you.Yeah.
