Gently sanitizing the water you use for seeds or clones is always a good idea.
You can use a bit of peroxide or aspirin. Aspirin is basically the active ingredient in cloning gel for instance. Salyacylic acid or something.
I have noticed a little dryness helps young plants get stronger.
Germination rates, as well as inconsistent or unpredictable plants are why I clone 90% of the time.
I generally keep 1-2 out of ten seeds as mothers.
Once you get your genetics ironed out, you will KNOW what the plant is basically gonna do. Then you can cater to your specific equipment and get way better yields, and no wasted space in your rooms.
Anyway, back on subject.
Things like spray bottles or humidity domes need to get a sniff check every day. If it smells like creek mud or wet towels, it needs aspirin or peroxide in the next use.
