Fungas Gnats - bottom watering

Is it the same as this? Because this is Bti.

Yep that's the stuff
Works great for me....I just sprinkle in my top dress and I don't see anymore flyers or larvae.
I even dug into the top dress a few weeks after top dress to see if I could dig up a gnat larvae but I could only dig up a few pot worms

It's probably a good one though. I was gonna get this one from the hydro store behind my house just in case I see them on any houseplants my wife brings home. This one's supposed to be a good one too.

I think that's the one I tried to buy but it isn't sold in Canada.
It's bti so it should be same kind of thing.
I used to use the bti mosquito dunks when I used to hand water but it never got rid of them. I used that shit every watering for a long time and they still prevailed

I've heard that a lot about the dunks and bits. How long have you been using this soil, because if you're adding EWC all the time you should eventually have a high enough population of predators to kill those little bastards? And I think Bti might be banned from Canada, I can't remember.

Just my second run with it.
But I have shitty store bought ewc that don't have mites in them. I know in the town I live in someone sells red wigglers and ewc so if I get gnats again I'm going to buy some from them. They should be some good castings.

No bti isn't banned cause I can buy pretty much everything but the microbe lift

I'd get some now and start using that instead of the shitty stuff. That might be a good source to buy it if he's selling both. Get some red wigglers too if you go there.

They definitely have good stuff, they ship all over I think
I got some last year and fuct them up...I think I let it get to acidic and all my worms would be at the bottom of my worm bag.....might try again

I've always had good luck with BTI treatments. They die off pretty quickly. Neem is pretty disgusting but I guess it could be used as a top dressing.

Hard to come buy in the EU though. Last time I ordered mosquito dunks from the US, worked just as good as the nasty brown solution you were able to buy a couple of years ago.

Stop giving people bad information. BT isn't good for you or the plants.
So you actually read up on Bacillus thuringiensis have you? Please elaborate and show us some scientific paper supporting how a organic bacteria culture only affecting flying bugs reproduction cycle may affect humans?

It's not sold in Europe because they think insects will build resistance and tolerance to it's use commercially where it's still being used for food production, not sold on the private market to my knowledge anymore in EU.

Look up 2 posts and read mine, lol. You'll get it then. He's confused and high on meth as usual.

Why do fungus gnats cause so much concern? They are easily eliminated. And most often when they are present they are not harming the plants and are actually an indicator that you're keeping the medium too wet. You don't have to go buy some fancy product to get rid of them. For so many the first option is to go get some product to mask an issue instead of dealing with the root cause.
