If you are a low income woman who uses these clinics for everyday healthcare due to not having insurance, it is alarming when they shut down.

Im guessing Texas is one of those states who refused their people to have access to Obamacare, and if that is the case, these clinics are a lot of women's only access to a doctor.

I was wrong, they do have access to the ACA in Texas.
Yes, but Texas didn’t expand Medicaid, so a lot of people got left out.
Texas has the highest rate of un-insured in the country.

This is going to be a very hard time until this new law gets stopped. Women are going to get hurt, especially those who don't have coverage. I really don't get these Republicans willingness to let their citizens suffer when they don't have to.

I'm not concerned over the long haul, because if people think women are going to be a punching bag this day and age, they have another thing coming. I'm only concerned with the gap in time between the implementation of laws like this and when things are on fire. Once things are on fire, I'm not worried.

white men. they have health coverage and don't have to give birth; of course they are the experts of everything.

assholes will be reporting ex girlfriends and shit.....there should be a $5000 fine for a false report
I didn't even think of that, you are right, the revenge aspect of this is really sick.

I really hope that a Blue state will pass the same law but attacking people openly carrying a firearm so that they can figure out what nuanced argument that the right wing activist judges will want to end this crapy bending of the law to suit their cult.

i heard on denver talk radio this am that something Abbott did in 2020 to limit abortions resulted in a 12 fold increase in women traveling to CO to get taken care of. she also said planned parenthood was gearing up here for another wave of abortions from texans.

where there's a will, there's a way.

this law effects the poor more because they cannot afford to go to another state.
