Tesla New Model Unveil...

The charge on my el cheapo headlight is already not lasting as long. It's less than a year old. But it was 12 bucks and I bought three of them.
Probably a li-po in it, they need to be managed well to last and be stored at 3.75 volts per cell, a li-on cell is more forgiving and lasts longer.

Not sure what kind of battery it uses. I'm an ultra tight hiker, so if I want to hang on to my cash I have to live with the 2.4 ounces. And the fact it doesn't have a true red light. But since I have three of them. . . . . .

This battery format looks interesting for a variety of electrochemistry's, the cells could be easily heated in cold weather or cooled when fast charging too. You are gonna see a lot of these lithium iron phosphate batteries in low cost and midrange EVs, this format helps them to compete and can even be used as part of the vehicle structure. Another advantage these batteries have is they will last a long time, the life of the vehicle in most cases, up to 3000 charge cycles.

China is looking to take over the global car manufacturing business and it is gonna use the transition to EV's to do it. They are also building a green new grid and then the Chinese companies that built and supplied it, will be selling and installing the technology in other countries, or selling the parts for it.

Uncovering China's Battery Breakthrough

This video looks at the new blade battery from the Chinese firm BYD, which beats Audi, Jaguar, and Tesla on pack level energy density. Due to its unusual shape, these battery cells can overcome some of the main challenges faced in the automotive sector. These include cost, charging time, sustainability, safety, and range!
Too bad US companies and politicians have spent decades fighting against the technologies of tomorrow.

That slogan "We're number one!" will need to be changed to "We used to be number one!".

Probably uses a single Lithium Polymer Ion battery, pop it open, see what it is and get a new one online for a couple of bucks. Try to store your lamps as close to 1/2 charge as you can figure out. LED lights have replaced all other types for camping and hiking these days and a set of batteries or a charge can often last an outing. Compact solar charging for lights and phones is also possible these days. A cheap USB battery bank will charge your lights and phone on the trail too.

I have two Anker battery banks as well as some el cheapo's. Sadly these days I very rarely walk further than a charge will last. But I do carry a mp3 player and a speaker, phone (on real trips, a camera on shorter hikes) and headlamp.

What are its on-pavement performance data? It does not look readable.

That is my complaint about every “flying car” I have ever seen. Not one will lap a stock Honda Civic at Willow Springs. And they are sucky aircraft too.

Having been watching this technology develop for some 30 years, I think that roadable aircraft are a dead end; too many design compromises for too few gains.

The reason you can't fly to your house has nothing to do with physics but rather with regulations and those can be changed as soon as enough money (or people) demands it.

there are entire neighborhoods in California that are built around airstrips and you can park your plane in the driveway....

Until we have cheap, simple diametric propulsion, we will never have a combo vehicle that does well on the road and also flies acceptably far and fast.

But why would we need it? The reason we don't fly everywhere has more to do with regulations prohibiting aircraft operating within city limits without proper licensing than physics.

Why build a compromise (too heavy for efficient flight, too flimsy for road use and safety) to solve a regulatory problem?

We have adequate propulsion; what we lack is storage.

I know of one in Quebec .... sooo cool :). I took a few lessons in buddies 210 but a tad hot for learning lol.
yeah all the street signs are 2ft high and no fences along the front yards, streets extra wide. It does seem kind of strange to turn a corner and see an airplane coming down the street at you. Just wave as you drive under the wing.... :-D
