I’ve been spraying B.t. since August pretty regularly, even though all I’ve seen are a few small loopers. Did find a few small spots of botrytis on my one cross last week, so the caterpillars are definitely out there waiting to munch - and I can only wonder how much damage I’d have had without spraying. Since B.t. has zero negative effect on growth, appearance, taste or strength, for me it’s become a standard preventative during flowering and I apply it every five days (and sooner after any rain).was only able to get the monterey bt at the local shop. question: should i go ahead and spray even though i’ve seen no evidence of bugs etc? or hold off
Agreed those fat chunky colas are a big challenge to get through to harvest - it’s just so easy for some little half-inch caterpillars to hide in there munching away for days before the damage is evident. And I’ll admit to being concerned in July about how I was going to manage what I thought would be ten foot monster plants (never imagining I’d have some over fifteen feet, WTF). Fortunately the big Tirah have a very open and airy branch structure, with more spread out flower sites compared to the compact Afghan plants I’ve grown. If your growing for personal smoke it's not always a good thing to have 8ft x 8ft plants with coke bottle cola's a lot of bud rot can ruin those big fat cola's and they only look good in a picture.
I find way to much vegetation to trichome production for me is of putting unless your making oils or edibles which in my honest opinion is all you should be doing with outdoors to begin with but not everyone has the indoor space i get it ! Just saying sometimes bigger isn't always better .
Thats spinosad not btk.ok so i ordered the monterey BT online and picked up at store. didn’t notice they gave me the RTU until i got home. only got the small spray bottle. call it good and buy the right stuff next time? or is this stuff a waste? or is it the same stuff just not the concentrate? sorry for dumb questions.View attachment 4990010
i have no idea what either are. i’ll use it then next time get the other stuff.Thats spinosad not btk.
they both kill caterpillars, btk is more selective. Spinosad kills bees, beetles, mites, thrips, most bugs.i have no idea what either are. i’ll use it then next time get the other stuff.
Mine are looking somewhat similar, but not as advanced yellowing as that 2nd photo in particular. Everything I read says it’s normal given it almost ready state. I have noticed a slowing of that yellowing after I feed too. I’ve just been plucking them off if there more than 50% gone.
Seems like they burn out from sunlight, uv shade might help but i’m rushing the finish anyway.Mine are looking somewhat similar, but not as advanced yellowing as that 2nd photo in particular. Did you spray them during the daylight with treatments can cause burning but that is not what that looks like more like the plant is just finishing and cannibalizing the chlorophyll in the leaves which what most people call fade. Although it looks like it might of be overwatered at some point as well.Seems like they burn out from sunlight, uv shade might help but i’m rushing the finish anyway.
DId you mean DVG because i have no idea who DFG is ?Here is one of the plants I’m impressed with. Love Stash from DFG I particularly like the spacing of the bud nodes (?) open structure allowing lots of air flow minimizing risk of pm View attachment 4989832
You probably want to keep spinosad off buds. Some say you can taste it . BT can be sprayed to harvesti have no idea what either are. i’ll use it then next time get the other stuff.
Dragons Flame Genetics. Most of his strains are described as easy growing and mold/mildew resistant which was my main reason for buying a few packs.DId you mean DVG because i have no idea who DFG is ?
Very nice Bam... Still! Look dang healthy, keeping a nice color on them ladies! Btw... What size pots are you using and do you do any leaf defoliation for internal air circulation as they get closer to finishing? Cuz they look really full too.View attachment 4990512
