Leavs and bud turning purple need help

I’ve got plants limp from freezing. I’m southwest of Fairbanks Alaska. It’s cold here eh? I grow multiple strains. Only those with purple in the genetics turn purple. I’ll call bullshit to the cold causing anything but plant death when it gets low enough for long enough.

I've witnessed it. The first time I grew I had way colder temps and where the colder intake was blowing the plants were obviously more purple. It wasn't the strain because I've grown one of them many times now. Only got purple that one time. I was also watering with cold water. Just telling you what I've experienced.

If I could ask opinions as it ties into this thread… I didn’t think it was a plant problem so I posted in “outdoor grow”, “let’s see your plants”.
Only my second grow and I’ve got purpling going on. It’s just curiosity. If any of you chiming in on this thread feel like popping over, and having a look at my post.(Last post made in that thread). It’s got pics and descriptions. If not no worries.

The Simple answer is. 1 The purplish colors come from Genetics, that are already pre-disposed to purple out come 55 F temps, or less at night. 2 Is it is just going through a type of lockout. That happens with some Hybrid Strains of weed nowadays. Meaning, lower temps make phosphorus more difficult for the root system to uptake it to the flowers. Kinda as @PadawanWarrior Stated! I see it first hand myself every season!

But smells great, ripening up good, tons of frosty trichomes. Hopefully 3 weeks it’s chop time. So that’s not reflected in the ph? I’m happy with 6.5 soil. I thought perhaps a phosphorus lockout might show up in Ph?

Lockouts won't show up in pH testing.

And the H is capital because it stands for Hydrogen. pH actually stands for potential of Hydrogen. Sorry to get scientific, lol.

If their supposed to have purp tendencies than that doesn't stop the purplish leaves from completing the Photosynthesis Part of the finishing out plant, and maturing flowers.. I grow organic, therefore there's no need to check PH levels.

Ok. I guess I didn’t realize it had purpling tendencies. I looked for harvest pictures with Critical Jack that looked like mine. Didn’t see any purple leaves. So I don’t need to worry in these last 3 or so weeks do I? Just business as usual right?

Just Rock them out for the last 3 weeks or so! Let them finish up, and Swell out. And yes just Getter Er Done!!

Yes, I agree this is happening because of p deficiency, but I don't think that every strain that does this has purple genetics.

I once saw a chart explaining why most leaves turn yellow when dying, and on some plants they turn purple (and sometime that pretty red). I did a quick search and couldn't find the chart but it explains how certain deficiencies cause different coloring. So I don't think the plants turning purple have any purple genetics, just when they get certain deficiencies they will exhibit the purple color.

And again to clairify, the purpling from deficiencies will never turn the entire plant purple like some of the purple buds shown in the thread. Those are purple genetics, clearly.
