Is that even "flushing" then? To stop feeding just means to give water.Flushing is not exactly BS but most growers do not understand the reason for it. And that reason is nothing to do with taste. The correct reason for stopping feeding in the last stages of flower is to discourage rodelization.
I agree. The biggest "cargo cult" in Cannabis growing. It's all just nonsense based on false ideas of plant biology.
You're correct. You can only "flush" a medium. I think what others try to do is "flush" nutrient out of the plant which is not "flushing", and does not work that way. LolIs that even "flushing" then? To stop feeding just means to give water.
I don't understand how one would flush a hydroculture in the first place (i.e. when there is no solid medium to "flush" of anything).
Where does black ash come from...I thought black ash came from too many nutrients in the bud and feeding them straight water would force the plant to use any stored nutrients so the smoke would be smoother....please help me understandYou're correct. You can only "flush" a medium. I think what others try to do is "flush" nutrient out of the plant which is not "flushing", and does not work that way. Lol
Feeding straight water is... watering. Not flushing.feeding them straight water would force the plant to use any stored nutrients so the smoke would be smoother....please help me understand
There is no stored nutrient in bud, only leaves. You smoke leaves? Good drying and curing habits are what make smooth smoke.Where does black ash come from...I thought black ash came from too many nutrients in the bud and feeding them straight water would force the plant to use any stored nutrients so the smoke would be smoother....please help me understand
So if I have no medium, there is no reason to flush? So I could run as high as 1200 ppm all the way through harvest?Feeding straight water is... watering. Not flushing.
"Flushing" as it is commonly referred to means putting excess amounts of water (or mild nutrient solution even) through the soil in order to "force" any nutrients out of the plant. That is what a lot of people, including me, find to be laughable.
Also we're talking about "pre-harvest flushing". Intermittent flushing is a different story, if you are using mineral fertilizers there can be build-up in the medium, and it may make sense to flush those built up salts out to get to a clean slate. Mind you, in that case you're flushing the medium and not the plant itself.
If you have no medium, there is nothing to flush. So if I have no medium, there is no reason to flush?
Reducing nutrients to zero in the ripening phase is not for dispute here. It's not "flushing", it's simply changing the feeding schedule.Whatever ec a plant is sitting/standing in will reflect in the plants sap, do you want to smoke raw nutrient residue is the question? it's all around the plants vascular system, give them water for a few days its reduced to 0.0
