The International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor has said he was seeking approval to resume investigation into Afghanistan, focusing on the actions of the Taliban and the Islamic State in Khorasan Province, ISKP (ISIS-K), while alleged US crimes will take a back seat.

One must set priorities, you know, prosecuting these crimina US gangsters is hard. To answer you OP, the US is not, never has been, and never will be a signatory to any organization that wants to charge American service members with a crime.

And how about the Chinese committing atrocities against Uigurs not to far north of Afghanistan? Oh right, also not signatories. Russia in Ukraine (and hell, Georgia too)? Same deal.

Why the focus on the US alone?

There are plenty of Americans sitting in foreign prisons for crimes like murder and rape. The distinction here is active duty soldiers which we prosecute ourselves and there are plenty doing time for crimes they've committed. Go suck a rotten egg.

I'm glad we (USA) are out of Afghanistan. Never should have stayed. I also don't agree that US soldiers should be protected from international charges when there is good evidence and reason for those charges.

However, the ICC, in setting it's priorities, did not say "immunity", you did. I also observe that the potential for further crimes from US soldiers is zero right now. Taliban are just getting started, so maybe the priorities were appropriate.

Don't make things worse by physically attacking the US or harming it's citizens. Just, don't.

Sucks, though it happens all the time with criminals here in the US. They'd laugh at you in the bay area for phoning in a car break in, or petty theft. There are just so many pieces of shit out there that they don't have the manpower to investigate the "lesser" crimes.

We have policeman taking POC into custody, then they check if migrant, if no family, they have some fun with the tonfa beat8ing the shit out of them, posing for some great pics, and if someone drove it to far, that one gets a lighter and some desinfection stuff and gets the order to clean up the mess! Igniting the scene! RIP Oury Jaloh and others! Often happens! Then they share the pics and making fun of it and jokes in whatsapp groups. Somehow they burn in the cells, and they say its suicide, so no media reports it because of the code of conduct... the list of POC died this or other way is long in good old germany... its about time again! I didn't said germany had no problems... but at least I know them, with open eyes!
