Nobody thought it was empty a cold gun is a gun full of blanks so on a movie set with a prop gun yes I get how it could happen it’s being made into something bigger than what it is Chicago had fourteen murders over 27 hours the other day why aren’t we talking about that shit this is pointless why do we give this so much attention it’s a mistakenly blank round put into a movie prop gun it happens a half gram of too much black powder would’ve made into a projectile instead of a blank if anything we should hold the manufacturer accountable and if you want to talk about gun violence this was not a act of aggression simply a accident a horrible accident accountability should be made but in what direction as this will have a lot of mitigating circumstances around the whole event and handling of the firearm and rounds goto the store buy a round of blanks and buy a round of live rounds and lay them out beside each other and tell me which is which so yes as a professional on set I would think that the people in which I entrusted with there job would do it which would be the armorer and assistant armeror who check all prop guns I’m a welder and electrician and go by the word of my coworkers constantly because they are professional in what they do and I’ve worked along side them for a long time and trust them i practice caution and safety which for all we know was done so imagine this boom he pulls the trigger nothing happens you think okay good to go right then he pulls the trigger again and bam somebodies hurt imagine how you would feel imagine how many small things you’ve overlooked that could’ve actually resulted in somebody getting hurt it’s a horrible accident this is just a forum of hate and bigotry somewhere for people to shove their anger at something else

actually. Quite a bit of actors check the gun before action. Not for live rounds. But checked to make sure the gun doesn’t just go click at scene. There is so many reasons to check the gun before yelling action.

It’s reported that a man on location assured Baldwin that the gun was safe to use. The man’s name was Dave Halls.

I actually have done some research, and actually shot some of these bullets and blanks. The only other style I've seen or come across are ones with a paper or plastic wad at the end of the casing to hold everything in. While the wad can be dangerous, its not a bullet and doesn't look like one.

Anyone using a firearm whether real or prop should be trained with enough ability to make sure they are being safe, because even props with blanks can be dangerous. Thats why movie sets use a variety of safety protocol to keep everyone safe. Which raises the real question......how did a live round end up in the gun.
