Lettuce looks good. What's your DLI on those? I'm going to drop some Habaneros into the corners of my tent when I start my next go. Peppers like lots of light and a heat profile that seems similar to what my tent does. I'm also going to cold stratify and germinate some rose seeds. Because.

DLI is the Daily Light Integral. The number is calculated by the PAR your plants are getting from your lights then calculated with the amount of light per day. Plants have a certain amount of total light they want to see in a given day. More than that, you're throwing away $$$ on your electricity or possibly stressing the plants and less than they want they don't produce or stay as healthy.

I need to get a light meter. I’m just getting back into this after many years and I always did outdoor grows. Indoor consisted of just starting plants.

If you're a cell phone person there's a couple decent apps which are cheap and can get you in the ballpark. I'm just using the Photone app which will tell you lux, PPFD, DLI. Depending on the phone & its camera hardware, it's supposed to be pretty accurate.

Yeah, I’ve gotten away with LED shop lights to get leaf lettuce to harvest

Almost a month since I cracked. Paired it down to 6 plants right now. I topped all the plants and plan to SCROG. I got some new lights and carbon filter installed this week. I’m excited.

They are the Maxsisun pb1500s. They were still fairly cheap but at more efficient than the older ones I had. They definitely produce more light and have better coverage.

Kale needs more light than the butter crunch letttuce. I’m not sure I want to invest in growing the worlds most expensive kale lol

In a week or two, once I harvest and dry the Autos I'm doing I'm going to start some hot peppers along with my next batch of seeds. They can take over 100 days to ripe, so sort of the same timeline.

Post pepper pics when you have that going if you don’t mind. I’ve debated trying that in the past but just grow them outdoor each year.

Will do. I'll be going with a few habanero style peppers...they stay small and produce in quantity. They also don't need a ton of water, and like lots of light. Keeping them to 24" or less and compact is important, so none of the bigger stuff (my Aji Lemon Drops grew to about 3.5' this year outdoors). Tucked into the corners of my tent they should have sufficient light and it may still be brighter than they want.

Sorry to hijack your thread Balzac89, but you have the kale going inside so it’s a little relevant.
Habaneros like it hot too. Seems no matter how early or late I start them inside, they just kind of stay in stasis once they are in the ground outside until late July. Then it gets hot and they explode. I’ve grown them in both SoCal and Michigan and observed the same thing. Curious to see if you can get them really going inside at the temp range pot plants like. They are remarkably tolerant to being under watered. I grew three colors of them this year.
