On Tuesday, police arrested Folmer at his home about an hour outside of the state capital after tracing what prosecutors say was an explicit image involving a minor to the senator's personal computer. During a search of Folmer's cellphone, investigators say they found two other suspected images of child pornography.

Folmer, 63, who is married and has seven grandchildren, told police that he "had been dealing with some personal problems," according to a criminal complaint filed by the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office.

It’s really disgusting to see people try to inject race into a situation where it had nothing to do with anything then make up some incendiary comments to provoke emotional reaction in others. This was a case of self defense and second amendment rights and the same people that are celebrating Kyles release would be feeling the same way if it were a person of color. The same people applauded the Korean shop owners arming up and protecting their family businesses against the Riots and arson in LA 1992
Hey it seems you are the one who keeps referring to specific races
Why is that ?

Because it’s the system that’s messed up, not just some cops. The police have shown a complete failure in the job they’ve been tasked to do. Why keep spending money where it doesn’t work? End the drug war, defund the police and use the money in smarter ways to fight crime and poverty.

I agree the drug war is bullshit. But destroying city property will cost money to fix and replace the damage. That’s money that could go towards the community. To me it’s ignorant and it’s totally off putting. Now even rolling by a peaceful protest that I don’t agree with I appreciate their right to do so. But pissing people off is not the way to garner support. Even if the politicians cave to avoid problems they will be voted out next term.

Yeah, I'm just putting all the right wing trolls on ignore and going to have fun trashing this therad. Join in. You know how thin skinned those fearful little snowflakes are.

Here's a good one:

Speaker of Alabama House Is Arrested on Corruption Charges

The indictment, filed in Lee County Circuit Court, accuses Mr. Hubbard of soliciting or engaging in corrupt dealings with some of Alabama’s most influential figures, including a former governor, Bob Riley, as well as several leading businessmen. Mr. Hubbard, who was first elected to the Legislature in 1998, was the only person arrested Monday.

Mr. Hubbard condemned the prosecution as “politics at its worst.” He was charged with crimes that included voting for legislation in which he had a conflict of interest and using his public office for personal gain. A special grand jury returned the indictment on Friday, but it was not announced until Monday, after Mr. Hubbard, 52, surrendered to the authorities in Lee County.

In that article from 2014, he called it a witch hunt. We all know who likes to use that term, don't we?

Well, then, here is what happened after the trial for this so-called witch hunt was over:

Michael Hubbard, Former Alabama Speaker, Sentenced to 4 Years in Prison

Michael G. Hubbard, the former speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives who was convicted in a state trial last month on 12 counts of corruption, was sentenced on Friday to four years in prison plus probation and $210,000 in fines.

State prosecutors, who had been intensely criticized by Hubbard supporters for their handling of the prosecution, hailed the verdict. Calling the sentencing “a turning point in our state,” the attorney general, Luther Strange, said in a statement, “No longer can elected officials expect to disregard our laws and not pay a penalty.”

Mr. Hubbard has maintained his innocence. His lawyers, one of whom on Friday called the case “a witch hunt,” have announced an intention to appeal.

A final follow up on that Hubbard turd. Arrested in 2014, tried and convicted in 2016, appealed and it took five years to work its way through the system. It took seven years in all.

Former Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard in state prison

Once one of Alabama's most powerful politicians, former House Speaker Mike Hubbard is now one of thousands of prisoners incarcerated in state prison.

"The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) took custody of Michael Gregory Hubbard on November 4, 2020," ADOC spokesperson Samantha Rose said in an emailed statement. "Per our ongoing, modified intake process, inmate Hubbard was received at the Draper Quarantine Intake Facility for initial processing in the same manner in which every other new intake is currently processed."

Trump Campaign Adviser Pleads Guilty to Child Porn, Sex Trafficking | Courthouse News Service

George Nader, 60, entered his plea before U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema in Virginia’s Eastern District.
The stocky, bespectacled former Washington insider was succinct as Judge Brinkema read the offenses in detail and asked for his plea.
“Guilty,” Nader said in a gravelly voice, rapidly nodding his head in a huddle with defense attorneys John Jeffress of Kaiser Dillon and John Nassikas III of Arnold Porter.

Nader was first charged in June 2019 with transporting and possessing pornographic images of children including some featuring toddler-age boys, baby goats and other farm animals. A month later in July, prosecutors added a sex-trafficking charge, saying Nader had arranged the transport to his Washington home of a 14-year-old boy from the Czech Republic in February 2000

Nader allegedly held onto the child’s passport after flying him through Dulles International Airport. Once at his residence, he assaulted him nightly and kept the child silent by threatening him and his mother with imprisonment should they ever attempt to report him

Alabama has a serious problem with corrupt GOP leaders:

Jack Williams, ex-GOP chief Marty Connors, medical exec arrested on corruption charges

State Rep. Jack Williams, R-Vestavia Hills, Marty Connors, the former chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, and a California health care executive were arrested today on federal bribery charges.

"Three individuals -- two of whom reside in Alabama and one who resides in California -- were arrested on charges stemming from their involvement in a public corruption scheme," United States Attorney Louis V. Franklin, Sr., announced today in a press release.

Bribery. The Grand Old Party is dead. Its successor is the Getting Our Payola gang.

Why Rep. Chris Collins’s insider trading arrest is a huge deal — and also totally unsurprising
This isn’t some random New York Republican. Collins is a Trump surrogate.

Collins — an increasingly prominent Trump ally — is embroiled in federal charges for insider trading.

The charges against Collins and why they’re such a big deal
On Wednesday, Collins was arrested on charges relating to his connection to the Australian biotech company Innate Immunotherapeutics. As the company’s largest shareholder, Collins allegedly shared private insider information with his son Cameron Collins, who then passed on information to his fiancee’s father, Stephen Zarsky.

According to the indictment, inside knowledge of a failed drug trial allowed Zarsky to avoid nearly $800,000 in investment losses. It’s a major development in a corruption scandal that’s been unfolding for the greater part of the past year.

The federal indictment charges Collins, his son, and Zarsky with 13 counts of wire fraud, securities fraud, and making false statements to the FBI. Collins’s lawyers said the lawmaker would be “vindicated.”

What’s important to know is that, today, Collins isn’t just some ordinary backbench Republican lawmaker with possibly shady business dealings.

The indictment, served by the US attorney in Manhattan, was damning.

“Collins, who, by virtue of his office, helps write the laws of this country, acted as if the law did not apply to him,” US Attorney Geoffrey Berman said at a news conference. Collins, his son, and Zarsky all pleaded not guilty.

Sex crimes, grift and graft. What else are they doing?

Looks like every right wing nut is out in force proclaiming the verdict as just. No problem. 2 white men dead and the killer walks. Just like as if it was a black man that was killed. I guess the justice system is starting to balance out. Now white people can be shot and killed just like black people and the killer gets to walk.

But really, a white racist punk kills 2 white people and other white people are throwing parties and dancing around. Makes perfect sense.

How was Rittenhouse racist? What you don’t get is this is some communist movement that wants to get as many disenfranchised members of society as possible just like Jim Jones did with JonesTown and The People’s Temple of 78. They preach about the evils of Capitalism and misrepresent communism as a utopia while the followers starve. It’s about numbers and nothing more. Watching interviews most people don’t even know why they are out there. It’s the thing to do and hey... You might just end up on tv just like one of them Kardashians LOL . Then again with your misinformation you just might be one of them

I'm one of who? A person with a brain that's capable of critical thinking? Any white person that travels from one state to another armed with an assault rifle to get involved in a BLM protest against the protesters is a racist. Racists are stupid like rittenhouse. People of intelligence would never have done what rittenhouse did unless there was some deep rooted hatred towards what the BLM protests were about.

BLM = Black Lives Matter. Showing up as a counter protester = you don't think so. Which makes you a racist.

For the record I'm part black and have never taken part in any of the protests because I have better things to do with my life. I did get caught a few times in the middle of the mayhem in Portland but nothing running a few red lights and yelling at people to get the fuck out of my way didn't allow me to extricate myself from the chaos. Probably helped that I have dark skin.

From what I've observed is most of the protesters are losers and white while most of the counter protesters are losers and white. At least the ones that were causing the violence from both sides. Mostly single white males bumping chests and trying to talk tough. That's what happens when you're unable to get a date because you're a loser. Then again you just might be one of them.
