During wwii "citizens" were asked to ration rubber, meat, sugar and gasoline for the cause. Those citizens largely complied. That is how civilization and countries survive and triumph over adversity.

We're Americans to experience that same community endeavor now, folks would be saying "fuck out troops, screw the cause, let them find their own gas and I will buy as much sugar as I want".

Because of the selfishness of the few we are STILL enduring this pandemic. If everyone had just gotten their shot when asked, no one would be any longer inconvenienced and folks would not be dying.

My wife's boss refused, refused, to make any concessions for his company and his employees. When asked he said "wash your hands, worry about getting sick WHEN you get sick".

He died of covid yesterday.

I can work up no sympathy for him or his family.

cool story and imagination you have. Pretty sure I said I was done in this thread.

go eat pretend food and claim others make you sick.

edit to say, my story time may or may not happen. telling stories can be very time consuming and it's hardly worth it here.

..and you also wouldn't believe, the person that told me this, out of all wonderful careers to choose, is trying to become a police officer. He had the virus and recovered and I'm thinking maybe this is just something he tells himself to get through the day. Don't ask how I know him. I won't tell.
