Hukt awn fawnix werkt fer mee. - however you pronounce Omnicron, it's just the flavor of the month for this news cycle. In an odd twist, I'm in complete agreement with @Herb & Suds :

As for the word:
Omni - ALL
Cron - Time (or is it chron? can't remember and too stoned to care atm - anyone else know what "cron" translates to?)

Here's the crux:
What used to be Cold & Flu season is now:
- Covid, Cold & Flu season.
At some point that fact will be absorbed.
Hopefully we do find positive changes as the virus mutates and global herd-resistance* is achieved.

*Herd-immunity is plain nonsense. It's THE goal to be sure; just as immunity is the goal for pretty much everything we haven't cured - yet.
But resistance and more effective treatments are much more real, and achievable goals in the interim.

it doesn't matter, it wasn't picked for it relevance to the strain of virus, it was picked as the next letter that wasn't confusing or potentially harmful to an ethnic group...Nu should have been next, but that would have led to stupid conversations much like "who's on first"...and Xi wasn't used as it's a common Chinese sur name, and there's already enough misplaced anger against the Chinese, and all Asians, because the people who hate them can't be bothered to learn how to tell the difference....or much of anything else...guess getting that good at hating people for the wrong reasons is a full time job

Some sort of German or Dutch? Don't get the first bit.

Sure, we have to learn to live with it, but we would have less fallout if the 30% of morons helped the rest of us out. They are costing society, it is not just a question of choice when it impacts the rest of us.
