Running my first sulfur burn tonight to kill broad mites

I almost threw out all my plants due to a nearly uncontrollable broad mite infestation. Been growing 11 years and I've never dealt with a more horrible pest. I've been reading and apparently sulfur burns are highly effective for killing off spider mites.

I saw a commercial garden on youtube that uses and recommends them to anyone growing indoors. He said he ran it 2 hours per night twice a week at lights off with exhaust fans timed to go off while the sulfur burns then kicks on an hour after the burn ends to evacuate the fumes.

I bought the gro1 off amazon for $105. I'm testing it in my tent that exhausts outside just to make sure it works as it should. As long as all is good I'll burn tonight in my flower room with some vegging plants. This is really it for me. If this don't work it all has to come down. I refuse to battle this shit for 9 weeks of flower spraying organic products every other day.

Wish me luck. I'll report back tomorrow with pics. God willing after a couple burns these fuckers will be highly controlled / eradicated. I'll do this routine 2x per week until the 1st week of flower.

I noticed this one cat used a simple $30 hot plate from wally world and a small steel cup. He used a heat gun to zero in the temp at 300F. Much more robust and cheaper than the gro1 unit. I'll try the hot plate method because I have one on hand. If it works the gro1 is going back and I'll save the $105 on an overpriced tin can with a reptile heater :)

You may want to garbage bag your light.

I did a surfer burn last year for powdery mildew, potent stuff.

I don't remember the damage, my light manufacturer said that the warrantee would be void if I did the burn without protecting the light.

I really appreciate the heads up. I was so nervous about doing the burn unattended that I stayed up all night from 1-4 until the burn was over. My room is only 16'x12' or so and when I put my respirator on and entered the room to make sure the burner was off and the exhaust fan kicked on I couldn't believe the thick cloud of vapor in the room. It was pretty substantial. I blasted the exhaust at full power to clear the room. No damage visible on the plants this morning. I'll do another burn in 3 days.

I'm gonna reach out to a couple LED light manufacturers to get their opinion on sulfur burns and how it might affect the lighting equipment. I'll report back after I get a response. I'd imagine it corrodes everything it touches. That can't be good for driver's or PCB's. If I have to I'll cover them with a trash bag next time. It would suck to fry my lights.

Wrap the light with a few garbage bags. Lots of overlap. Same with digital controllers.
