Clones Vs Seeds

I dont want to be a broken record here but thats insane. And his genetics are bullshit. All these new candy, cookie, cake, strawberry, etc are fucking lame ass new trends that are wiping out all the good, elite, old school genetics. This guy should be slapped in the face.

Mathew Riot used to do the same shit. I think he dropped his prices but hes still a bitch and the breeders doing this kind of shit should die.

Being a former clone dealer, clones go for 15$ tops. Thats single. Trays drop that price down. Whatever strain. Period.

Something off about that site, reminds me of copy cat. Similar strains an names too.
Well if you do a google image search many of the images are on other sites. The $500 Blueberry Gushers is the same image being used at a dispensary in Washington D.C. for a strain called Gelato #41

Many sites look very similar because they're using the same templates. It's just a Woocommerce template for a Wordpress website.

For your average home grower seeds are your best bet, any sort of commercial setup you’re gonna want consistent product and known timelines, not having to devote the resources to finding a keeper mom is a bonus too so clones are a better investment.

i want a clone mostly for breeding. I want Animal Mints to breed with and i don't want to go thru the hastle of pheno hunting beans. screw that i'll pay someone that's reputable that's already found it for me. Yeah I'm not paying extortion level prices but I'll shell out some coin for the convenience and quality, and put my money into a person i feel comfortable supporting.
Super scared about bringing a clone into my grow but I'm not gonna just buy it from some schmuck with no rep.

I would say going clone vs seed would be situational lol. I work at a cannabis nursery so when I want to grow something new I grab clones from work most of the time unless I want to grow something else. Don't get me wrong, having a seed bank to choose from is easier than keeping moms, however it is more cost friendly to properly plan in advance and mom a clone to get the amount of plants I need to fill my tent, rather than buying a bunch of seeds to pop. I normally only keep a mom for a couple months then shes gone and its on to the next strain
I keep moms for a hot ass minute. Seeds I do if I'm looking for different phenos from.a breeder. I won't pay high prices from clones either if they're highly sought after I either know the guy that bred and has it and it's simply gifted to me or I know someone in the industry that bought the pheno from the breeder and they trade with me.

I've got a few different cuts of animal mints and 2 different cuts of oreoz.

My mate sells clones at £5 each, but TBH I can't be arsed and I rather grow my own. Taking clones is where I fail, if I took 10 I'd probably get one to root. I have tried so many different methods. It is why I am glad seeds are so cheap.:D
Got a fool proof method for you. Get a medium size sandwich bag, soak your plugs in tap water for a couple minutes, spray bag a couple times and put your cut in the bag and close it. Don't touch it again until you see roots. You can give it fresh air every couple days if you please.

I have tried that and I ended up with a lot of dead ones. I have tried every method I can think of. I have tried humidity domes, heated humidity domes, bags, rockwool, jiffys, clonex cubes, honey, clonex, peat and so on. Under lights, on window sills and in poly tunnels. I currently have two clones from a Bruce Banner #3 in a glass of water on the kitchen window sill. They aren't dying or wilting, but they aren't rooting either. They have been there for nearly 3 weeks, just existing.

I have been pissing around growing weed for 20 years. It is only in the last 2 years I have actually taken it seriously and them numbers don't lie, clones are expensive and a whole bunch of work, plus I am shit at them.

At those prices I'd take a punt every once in a while, just for a change. Are they rooted and ready to go at that price?
Yes , but this one only carries a few and they are selling humbolt seeds ( 10 packs ) and mixed strains ( blister packs ).
Other cali dispensaries sell clones but haven’t check them out. I mentioned this place cuz its literally a mile away.

Jesus …. $1500 ?

I could get some killer lights for that coin.

local dispensary ( 1 mile from me ) sells clones for like $20 bucks each plus i can look them over onsite.

The problem you run into with so many on the forums that have bought into all this Top Tier from Elite breeders nonsense is that they'll never believe that you can spend $20 for a clone and grow this so called Top Tier pot.

What's funny is that all these Top Tier strains are replaced monthly by some other Top Tier cut. Everything is already better and Breeder X has the fire. They'll never be satisfied because they're too hung up on hype. The next cool sounding name is always the latest fire for some. And around and around they go like a dog chasing its tail.

I genuinely have looked at moving to America, here is another reason it is a good idea.:D

When you pop seeds it's like playing the lottery, theres always genetic sway towards the mother or father, possibility of herms, bad growth traits, poor immunity to mold/mildew and a huge amount of other variables like yield and potency.

With a clone given that you trust and know the source you know exactly what you're getting. So from that point you know that you just need to give the plant what it needs to fully express its phenotype.

A lot of elite genetics (there aren't very many actual elite cuts) would take hundreds, possibly even thousands of seeds to find depending on how the strain was bred and how stable it was. Most breeders honestly just pollen chuck and it's a sin how much they charge for seeds, it's rare to see someone inbreed a line for a specific trait and then outbreed for hybrid vigor and stabilize lines.

Prices for genetics are really obscene in general but hopefully that gives you an idea of why a clone would be so much more. Each clone of an elite phenotype could easily represent hundreds of seeds that have been grown. Personally I'd never pay anywhere near that for a clone, given a good environment most strains can produce fairly well, and you'll be able to get something good enough for significantly less than that.

That is weed growing all over, some of the names these new strains have are ridiculous. TBH I am concentrating on the classics from my youth. I have a lovely Sensi Seeds Big Bud almost ready to flip.

Yes, but equally these clones could be any old shit that the seller has hyped up with a daft name.

I get the idea, but at those prices for a single plant it is never worth it. At $20 a time it is worth considering.
