First coco run, growth has STOPPED over last 3 days.

So I have been growing for ten years, I decided to switch to coco, the first issue I had was a magnesium def but I increased cal mag and it doesn't seem to be getting worse. I'm in cultivation nation, feeding/watering every other day, EC OF NUTE solution has been 1.7, pH of 5.9, nutes are as follows,
3ml of heavy 16A, 2.5ml of heavy 16 B, 4 ML CAL MAG. ENVIROMENT IS ALL ACCEPTABLE.

EC 1.7 seems rather high.

I’ve never been as high as 1.7EC.

questions.
1. Why aren’t you adding equal A and B? Normally you use equal parts of A and B with 2 part nutrients.

2. why arent you feeding every day?

3. On your next feed can you collect the runoff and test it’s EC? Don’t worry about runoff pH just let me know the EC.

4. I know you said environment is acceptable but what are the variables?

This has been grown with no higher than 1.3EC and is currently having 0.7EC every 3 hours from my auto feed system.

1 plant in 2 gallons of coco.

humidity is around 60 percent, heat stays from 75 to 83 F, light is a Mars hydro (the one built for a 4*4). I only cutt out .5 of the 16 B to try to get a little more nitrogen and cal mag in there (the heavy 16 bottles say 8ml per gallon of A and B, I can't even get 4ml in it without the EC going over 1.8) . Run off ec is 1.5 after going in at 1.7 (healthy roots right?) , . I'm so confused. It's worth adding my tap water sits at .5 EC by itself. This is my 3rd attempt at coco, got a really bad broad mite infestation, decided to go with Coco after that, I haven't had a successful grow in 2021, I don't know what's up. Ten years straight without throwing out a plant, 2021 can't get threw veg. Do you mind if I ask you your nutrient regiment? I was thinking maybe I need one built for coco?

You should be feeding multiple times a day to runoff in coco. No straight water.

Here’s everything I use and the EC values I use along with approx feeding amounts per day.

source Water 0.2EC

Seedling early veg 0.6-0.8EC every couple of days

Mid veg 0.8-1.0EC feeding once daily.

late veg early flower 0.8-1.2EC 3x a day

early flower 1.0-1.2EC 3-5x a day

late flower 0.6-1.0EC reducing towards harvest 3-5x a day.

I use

DUTCH PRO hydro coco soft water GROW A/B
DUTCH PRO hydro coco soft water BLOOM A/B
Epsom salts
Calmag
Monopotassium Phosphate
pH down

I use Grow until I start flowering then begin to refill my tote with BLOOM formula for flowering.

Epsom salts I use towards the back end of flowering maybe 0.1EC if that usually just a pinch here and there.

Calmag I had been adding religiously at 0.3-0.4EC almost every feeding once im Out of early veg BUT I think it could have caused a Ca uptake issue in my plant (you shouldn’t need Calmag with 0.5EC source water)

Monopotassium phosphate I use in a concentration at less that 0.1EC for a couple of weeks in the middle of flower.

I would say 1.3 is a lil high side, but your humidity levels are high enough to support the that high of a feeding with such a small plant. Tbh, I would cut down the strength to about 1.0 ec, and let it get gain a better root foundation and more size, before deciding to go any higher.
Also, I would up my ph around 6.3-6.5 early on and taper down as you start to get towards the flowering stage.

in coco 6.3-6.5 could stop Ca uptake.

Personally I hit 6pH each and every time.

But I agree with the EC assessment although…. Too much of an EC change can cause root shock in either direction due to the osmotic pressure change in the rootzone.

but that’s a whole other thread lol.

Just some helpful advice, don’t treat coco like soil. Coco is closer to hydro than soil. I have made all the mistakes when first starting out with coco. At that size plant feeding once a day is fine. You will start to notice the coco drying out faster as the roots grow, that is when you want to start bumping up your feeding. You do not want the wet dry cycle of soil with coco. You want to keep coco 90% saturated at all times for fastest and best growth. Every time you feed the water actually draws oxygen into the coco. If you let coco dry out you will start having issues from salt buildup.

Did you have it in 2 gallon right from the start ? I got these in 1 gallon thinking of transplanting to 2 gallon I just flipped 12/12.

Idk bud. I've been a soil grower for a decade, never had a failed grow. I can't seem to get this right.
If your looking for good nutrients for coco I would recommend jacks 123 or green leaf nutrients Mega Crop. Both are dry nutrients and super easy to use. Plenty of posts to show off how good they are.

So switch to distilled or ro or drop the cal mag from the tap water?

Hmm, I have yet to run into any cal issue ph'ing in that range. In fact, you can easily do a search and find that many others ph that high and has not had any issues doing so either.
Here are my plants in coco at 6.5

Well shit man, coco should be a walk in the park for you.Your pots elevated? Runoff cant be allowed to suck back up.

Whats your water??
