Running 2 - 4x4 tents with 2 SF 4000s, 4 fans, one inline fan. My power bill has gone up $100 a month in electricity charges - was hoping it wouldn't be that high, but that's what it is.
Though maybe this would help someone estimate their costs - I know I was looking for this info myself.

It depends on location in regards to power rates

Look on ur power bill. Look up KWperHour charge(I forget how they actually right it but it's similar to that). That will tell u what they are charging. Might also want to see if they for charge off/on peak hours. Last time I looked(5 or so years ago) for my area it was 16¢ per KWHR. At that time I think Cali was double or triple that. That's why location is important. Ur bill and a good internet search should answer most ur questions. Happy growing!

I haven't - it gets cold in the basement - I think if I did off peak hours my top temps might not get to 68-70 during lights on. I thought it more productive to have warmer temps during the lights on - right now the temps are around 74-75 with lights on.

Yea that's what I was saying. With the lights on during the day, my peak temps are about 75. If I ran the lights at night I think it would only be like a high of 68 - I was thinking that is too cold for my plants? I know it wouldn't be great for the hot peppers I have in tent #2

My one 3x3 with 300 watt light costs me 100 a month in electricity.


Be happy with what ya got.

Sorry I’m not following the logic. Your worried about cool temps but night time in the dark is as cold as it’s getting usually

I'm worried that too cold of temps during the lights on period will stunt the growth

You have expensive power. Look into Off-Peak hours. If you're worried about temps then it's better to have lights on generating heat at night when it's colder.

I run during the night and take advantage of the off-peak rates and the heat the light generates.

Off-peak4.128 ¢ per kWh
