Growing vegetables under artificial light is a BAD deal for the environment. Even shipping in off-season produce from across the globe is way, way better than growing them indoors.

There is a great talk by Bruce Bugbee about that issue:

Knives too. Japan is right there with them though, but different characteristics.

The good German knives are all made in Solingen, a fairly small town actually. For some reason it has become the "knife capital" of the world.

With the knifes I would also include windows. German windows are amazing.
And bread.

You can grow the veggies hydroponically instead. It is the artificial light that is the problem, not the compost or the mineral nutrients.
