I don't know, they also fought to cancel things like dumping chemicals in our water, lead in pipes, asbestos in our homes and businesses, leaded gasoline that polluted the shit out of our lands next to roads, racist laws keeping minorities from being able to vote, on and on.

I really don't see the new millennium version of toxic waste that the militarized paid trolls spreading lies that keep people angry, depressed, and very very unsafe is any different.

I do find it funny how much the hate mongers pushing the lies are so up in arms about 'cancel culture' though.

Isn't he free to say he doesn't want to share a platform with something he disagrees with? It's his music, he can determine how it's distributed.

I do think crazyhorse is going to lose and overestimating his importance, but its his stand to make. Spotify is free to tell Neil to suck it as Rogan has a much larger audience (guessing there).

Edit: I actually used to make those arguments about cancel culture or whatever, but they fall completely flat outside of government protection. Private parties don't owe that to other private parties. When it comes to public companies their duty is to shareholders, they have a duty to make money and that means going with the majority. If someone is driving away more customers than they attract it's the companies obligation to address that.

Cancel culture is definitely something that will die from itself and has nothing to do with defending against racism or other bullshit i never supported.
Even in the left side people are cancelled for any reason someone will bring from his own.
There is no real criterion to who you should cancel or not, not in the real world, not in the whole political scene, even not in the only left scene.

I doubt Young believes Spotify will "cancel" a show they paid $100 million for exclusivity, in exchange to continue streaming his songs. Also cancel culture is not necessarily a bad thing, considering it falls pretty closely in line with the thinking that consumers can impact company decisions based on how they spend their money/time. Why would Young want to share his life's work on a platform that caters to false and misleading information? Spotify doesn't even support it's own so called brand FFS. Working musicians and artists have been getting screwed by that outfit for years while they pile on billions in the bank on the backs of monthly subscribers.
