Can I make bubble ice hash immediately after harvesting even while the buds are undry and uncured?

Fresh frozen I believe they call that. I took some fresh frozen trim and made it into some bubble hash it was amazing! Very fragrant!
I don't have bubble hash bags so I was wondering if there was another way to get bubble hash without using the bags or if there's an alternative to the bags I can easily find at Walmart or home depot or lowes?

The gumby method requires alot of materials from what I've seen.

I've made plenty of bubble hash from fresh frozen trim . Never did it before freezing though . I'd freeze it regardless at least overnight , cold trichomes are your friends .
How long do you keep them in the freezer and can they be sitting on a plate with no cover or should it be in a bag to freeze?

I am not really sure on that one micron screening is what you need, I have no idea if you can find that at a big box store.

Around 75 micron is supposed to be best. I think with bubble bags 160 is the lower quality and then it goes up to like 40 for the high end.

Kept in the freezer at least 24 hrs, and should be in a bag. Don't waste your time trying to find something at Walmart, HD, or Lowes, fruitless effort. Get a set of bubble bags, they aren't that expensive, you can get a complete kit for like $179 on Amazon, bags and washer, or do like I did, buy the bags & washer separately and save some money, I got an 8 bag set and a washer for under $100.
You need to freeze it for the trichomes to break away freely from the buds, otherwise you'll have nothing but a sticky mess.
If your interested in making bubble hash, I HIGHLY recommend watching all of the Frenchy Cannoli (RIP) videos, he was one of the best out there that shared his method freely for the world to enjoy.

Is the washer actually worth it?

I just made my first couple batches of bubble and it was really easy. Hardest part is scraping all the trichs out.
To me it's worth it, I paid under $60 for mine, and that's cheaper than the drill that most people use to hand mix with. The only "modification" I've done, is replaced the the ribbed drain hose to a smooth one. It doesn't take much to keep it clean, and as far as parts, they are a throw away when it dies item for me.

The washers I've seen are exactly the same as a portable/camping washing machine.

cost £12
Exactly!!!!
In The Bubble Bag Dudes "kit" the washer costs like $140, I found the same exact washer on Amazon for under $60, just didn't have the "logo" silk screened on it, didn't feel like spending the extra $80 or so just to have a logo on it, LOL

How many times do you need to wash your buds to extract everything?

I used a sealed bucket so I could shake it instead of a using drill, it worked but I had to wash it 5/6 times before I exhausted the resin.

You could do a kief run, you only need 1 screen, a bucket and dry ice

That all depends on a few factors, plant breed, cycle times, amount.
Typically trim runs for me around 4 times before I start seeing green come out,
Buds, depends, I've run up to 12 times in short 3 minute runs. I had one batch that at wash # 8, I was still getting as much as wash #1, and went to 14 before I started to see green (chlorophyll) coming out. It was a Chocolope cross that was extremely resin coated.
I still have a lot more to run from last years crop, but due to work, the new grow, and kids moving from Cali, haven't had much time to fit it in.
If you've ever watched any of Frenchy's videos, I think he runs up to 15 washes.

I whole heartedly disagree, the washer is amazing and with a mod or two you won't lose anything
Truth!!!!!
You can find washers pretty cheap on Amazon, IF it does "break" off to the recycle bin it goes. No sense in trying to find parts, they are cheap enough. Looking back thru my Amazon account, I bought my washer for $42.95.
I also did the drain hose "mod", 5 minutes, and a piece of hosing off the shelf at my shop, and away we went.
As far as "cleaning" haven't had any issue whatsoever keeping mine clean. A long cycle with a couple bottles of Isopropyl Alcohol, drain, and it's as clean as the day I unpacked it.

You should really get the bags, washer or not.

Maybe try some paint straining bag from home depot if you really want to go that route? Options like that won't have multiple micron choices though so you won't really be able to separate the trich head sizes. You could try a hand sieve...but that's going to be some crude quality.

Anyone happen to have cleaning tips for a dude that may have forgotten to clean their bags before putting them away? The screens are slightly blocked/clogged, they were in a hot garage and the leftover bits melted into the screens. Planning to soak in iso, rinse with hot water, soak/rinse several times. Tried using a brush but it was a bit too stuck to come off.
