Sexing regs without flipping to 12/12

Unless you're making seeds there's no reason to grow anything other than feminized seeds. No sexing required.

Gonna pick your brain for a minute. I want to pheno hunt, keep, and so on. I can only
Veg four and flower four. For me, the idea of keeping the same four, indefinitely, doesn’t seem like what I want to do. Do you have a larger scale, or why do you pheno hunt and keep, vs running say four tried clones at a time? I’m not at all saying you’re wrong. I’m intrigued and looking for more information.

I, unfortunately, don’t have any customers, so I get bored with the same stuff after about a quarter lb of it, personally.

Maybe pheno hunting for desirable stuff if there’s a market, I can see it.
I like a lot of diversity, but sometimes there are strains that I fall in love with. The point of this hunt is to find as many unique phenos as I can. The bonsai mother setup is so I can build up a huge variety in a small space. It's also so that I never have to toss another old mother to make room for a new one. Eventually I want all of the classics along with a bunch of rare genetics.

I'm basically doing it so that I can pick a setlist each grow. I'd also like to start breeding some day, so I'll have a nice stable to tinker with by then. Plus seeds runs are often annoying and unpredictable. I prefer working with clones.

You can take snips and put them directly under 12/12 using weak lighting. Like @lusidghost said they will root.. they will also trigger flowering at the same time because it never died. I’ve done it in plain tap water. Roots & sex shown within 2 weeks of snipping. I found males, and was able to pull the original plant giving the others space to breathe.

Pheno hunting is way better then just getting a cut from someone. With pheno hunting it allows you to grow out a strains lineage through numbers and then it provides you with a mother plant that suits your needs vs just getting a cut "who knows what traits were selected for that cut", but with pheno hunting comes a lot of seed popping. You could get an IBL and pheno hunt with less numbers since the strain has already been refined. A good example of this is the GDP IBL that Im running, a full pack run and 99% look clone like uniform and they all inherited the purple urkle grape profile .

I want to try this, could I use a cloner?

If you wish. That should work faster if the water is aerated. Just make sure light schedule is 12/12. I didn’t pay any mins to making the space optimal. Temps were about 72-75F and rh never went over 45%.

Here’s a couple pics of the transplant. These cuts took longer than any others I’ve done. I wouldn’t clone this one without rooting gel or aloe in the future. Prior to transplant I did give them a splash of clonex going into the soil. will it help? We’ll see.
The pics of the clear plastic cup is what I put them in after I cut them. I had to cut them out of the plastic lid. It went pretty smoothly. The cuts look like shit because they want food, and I had the light at 100% one day for quite some time so that’s my fault. I’m sure most will survive. I was in it for the experience so either way it’s all good. I used to know someone that could tell 100% by smelling them in early veg. I wish I could find him again because I'm still not sure if he was tricking me somehow or if he really had that ability. He was always right though.

As in more dank? You'd have to be familiar with that pheno

The pics above this post are perfect examples. You dont need to flip to determine sex, keep seedling growing as fast and healthy as you can and somewhere between 4th and 10th node they will show. A magnifying glass will help.

That's how you do it my guy! Always keep landraces or strains from the 90's. There alot of potential to be found /unlocked!!
