SOS: where's the smell ??

Hello everyone, so this is the first time I get this weird (idk if I should call it a problem) outcome from 2 very nice and very strong smelling strains I grew 3 times already: Runtz Muffin and Blue Gelato 41 from Barney's. they're under a mars hydro ts1000 with a proper air circulation (Fan + extractor with C filter) they're now at their 3rd week Fl and I really can't believe the weak smell im getting outta them.. the same weak smell they got when the fan leaves get to an xxl Size during veg.. but today even with trichomes showing up Im left with almost no smell from these babies.... is there any explanation ???

PS: Its also my first time using effervescent CO2 tabs instead of CO2 bag hanging.. 1 small tab/week in 1l water.. could it be the problem ??

I wish it just that.. but its still a very strange thing to me.. these strains have always been the strongest in smell ever since they're 3 week age.. when they start flowering if my hands touch a leave the smell really stays stuck in my fingers... now im like mind blown..

everything going almost perfect.. no over or under nutrition signs.. just read somewhere else someone saying there are some plants they start smelling at last 2 weeks of flowering.. some say I need to pinch the buds a lil.. but yeah apparently none to really worry about like u said... Of course you can't smell them, they are still babies at 3 weeks flower, they haven't even gotten started yet. You can probably smell something if you stick one of them in your nose. Give them time and don't harvest until they are FULLY ripe-the dankest terps come at the end.

I guess I got lucky with the previous seeds.. they had a much stronger smell compared to these.. like I said I from the veg stage my fingers would be stuck with the smell if im trimming a leave or sth.. but these now are not at all..

Co2 in a tent with an exhaust fan? That wouldn't have any effect on smell but you're just sucking any Co2 out and also those bags and tablets are basically worthless to begin with.

As for smell, they've only been flowering for 3 weeks.

I find the scents can be widely variable for all kinds of reasons, and yes it is still early, but one thing to make sure is that you have a sense of smell! I got this surprise smelling jars of herb that suddenly lost all the smell and I was wondering what I did wrong in the cure- whelp it was covid. I doubt that is the case here but it is such an odd experience to lose taste/smell and it slowly dawned on me

The unique smell of the strain. The fruity and sour smells, don’t come in until the trichomes come in. I’m in the last days of week 5 flower, and they smell and trichomes showed up this week. Also, being nose blind to the smell is real.

Those have a long ways to go. If you smell goodness at this stage you should be extra happy. But it's totally normal to not smell much yet, and some strains don't smell as potent as others.

yeah its the first time using the tabs so I just thought it might have any effect that I didn't know about.. but the smell my man is really weak compared to my previous grows and im not the only nose around them to notice that.. and u're def right about the fan effect on CO2 of course it'd suck a certain amount of it out.. I set it up to turn on during their sleep for some cold temperature since I've heard its very recommended during flowering.. but what would be your advice about CO2 ? let me know please even if I've had multiple grows Im still really open to learn

have you never had one plant that had its leaves smelling strong before even the Fl stage ? ever since I grew the runtz muffin two years ago I really got hooked on it and been growing it til now and all the seeds I've got before gave me plants with strong aromatic smelling leaves.. my friends here noticing the same thing about this one growing now.. I guess like bam stated before it should be the pheno..

yeah man that's what I've read from multiple forums now.. everyone saying not all the seeds give the same exact plant.. so I guess for these seeds im gonna have to wait a little bit more for the smell unlike my previous grows..

its completely new to me to figure out that strong smelling strains like the Runtz muffin for ex can be late on delivering their smell till this point... and when it comes to if im having the sense of smell or not, whenever I or anyone of my entourage got flu we all lost taste and smell for couple days.. someone who cooks using herbs and spices like me would have noticed easily cuz lets be honest man: losing the smell and taste was a flu thing waaay before even we get to know about Circusvid, so yeah it is absolutely true and normal that when we catch a cold, the first thing we notice is that we can't even smell a slight bit of scent from the strongest spices/herbs in the kitchen while cooking..

I wouldn't worry about the smell. Give them a couple weeks and they'll be stinking. You're plants look healthy just give them time.

Thanks a lot guys for ur attention on this post !! so time will tell... however, been also reading some posts where some recommend Terpene enhancers, can someone tell me if that's worth it ? too many brands been suggested (bud candy, terpino or sth.. etc) didn't have to use that in my previous grows and still got some stinky buds... always thought the more potent a strain is in THC the more terpenes.. just another product for money waste ??

Most of that is just K and S. Some is just Epsom salts, lol.

Save your money. You don't need any of that stuff. It's all just marketing nonsense to sell products that are mostly just water. People using that stuff don't understand plant nutrition or what the ingredients are. Some of those $25 bottles are just epsom salts or monopotassium phosphate mixed with water. Both of which can be purchased dry by the pound and can make gallons for much less than some bottle with a shiny label and cool sounding name. Don't fall for it.
