Cloning without a dome

How are people cloning without a dome? I read heaps of people do it but when I try, within hours there falling over.

they use auto cloners mostly. If the clone gets limp its generally okay, if it doesn't stand tall by the next day it probably wasn't handled right.

you could probably get cubes in a tray to root while domeless but it would require high room humidity and very stable conditions

I don't care to clone in a dome. With a dome its higher humidity than without and one more thing you have to get your rooted clones accustomed to and makes room for more stress. I use a oxycloner. Without a dome. Works perfect.

There’s lazy to a point, the limit here is the info you can share with us. I refresh my memory on the rules of good cloning everytime, but they should rebound from limping over in a couple days if happy. Post pics of the clones and settup (light intensity/distance), it’ll help.

Otherwise do a refresher on some reading material. I forget atm, ya need like 5 healthy nodes on the clone taken, make sure to not bottom out the stem in the plug/media, defoliate lower nodes and trim large leaf tips on uppers (if like too big for a rebounding clone to support), clean cuts and immediate dips, there’s methods to wait for roots to start in water before planting in media, etc..

use a spray bottle to keep them moist if your worried about moisture levels, as above good info, they should bounce back within days

You want to "harden off" the clones, so it's good practice to utilize venting and or remove the dome entirely prior to transplant. It's not necessary but it will reduce the overall stress on the plant. I have taken cuttings stuck them into a root riot then straight into a 2 gallon coco pot and watered it until dry until it grew and knowing that plant is a stress tank it flourished as expected. Some genetics will need more care than others.
