Help me solve my airy buds.

Alright guys, So I have been growing for about 2 years. I’ve had some really good grows that have some good buds for sure. But I have been messing with autoflowers here recently and I like them but idk what’s up. So this harvest tje top buds are nice and thick and dense like they should be but you go down a row or two and the buds get airy and terrible idk why? I have 2 mars hydro which gives me 600 watt in a 4x4 tent idk why I can’t get nice thick buds. Any help would be great. I also feed them little of general hydro trio.

Harvesting the bottoms too early? Maybe let them ripen another couple weeks.

I know what you mean though. Although it can be genetics cause some autos produce nice dense buds all over. Strawberry pie by fastbuds Is one that springs to mind.

Chopping in stages won't turn airy buds into dense ones btw. It will just allow those to rippen.

Yeah see I did thag a lot on my photos and got some nice buds I just worried about fucking the autos up I hear some people say they are very sensitive to stress and stuff but this run I’m definitely pulling the bottom nugs I have thrown a lot of buds in trim pile for hash

No I didn’t train them at all really. Just let them grow maybe this time around I’ll do a Scrog but it’s hard to do that when they are all uneven and one is tall one is short it gets annoying lol.

Yeah that’s what it is the top buds are nice and dense can’t see through them at all that’s what I like but the farther you get down the branch the shittier it gets haha really airy. It makes me feel like the main buds was stealing the food from the bottom buds cause I really didn’t. Feed to much this time around not much at all.

Yeah that was my thought as well haha I got one more run going now and I think I might give them a break not to fond of them. I got three of the same strain and they all are different heights and so on.

I think you are experiencing that very same reason why my Viparspectra's are now collecting dust atop one shelving unit. They gave me OK tops ... but nothing but LARF below that. Those lights had very little canopy penetration.

Which Mars Hydro lights specifically?

I got two TSW2000 which produce 300 true watt.

The TSW2000 produces the same light output as my now retired V600 Reflectors. They emit a bit too much blue and not enough red for harvesting real dense bud. And you mentioned a SCROG - that will definitely help you get some more tops which will increase the yields. But a SCROG will not do that much to get you fatter nuggets further down the branch.

They are sensitive to stress that much is true. However once the stretch is over you can treat it like a photo in this situation.

The stress factor is a much bigger deal during veg as any time lost during veg equates to less yields due to less size.

I have grown with Mars Hydro TSW-2000 I actually started using those lights. Genetics are a big factor so it could just be that. I used to get huge buds with those lights but it was strain dependent. What are your temps & humidity like?

That’s the issue my temps went high cause I didn’t have my ac in so it got up to 90 high during day and 83 low during day maybe so I know that’s to hot which would cause that

Sounds like your temps getting too high. Flowering cannabis likes it cooler, and bud growth won't be as full and dense with higher heat. Mine stay in the 75-80° range lights-on, under a Mars TSW 2000. The autos I grew under a 315 watt CMH were kinda airy, and I couldn't keep that grow below 88°.

I've had some extremely high temps as I use HID lighting. The 600 watt HPS is not a very friendly low heat light in the middle of summer. But even then I still ended up with rock hard buds when sometimes the temps were in the mid to upper 80's and pushing into the 90's on really hot days.

I think coco handles heat better than soil and I was using Blumats so the substrate never dried out and maintained a constant moisture level. There are different factors that affect how a plant responds in high temperature situations.
