Thank you for the
Healthy looking plants. Looks like your off to a good start. I have a pack of the same seeds so I'll be watching this to see the result.

Good luck.

Also, it seems like many of the African strains have high levels of THCV which is desirable to many.
Thank you. The results are not as pretty as was hoped for but they are smokeable.

Most shocked by the fact these plants were in flower when the temps got freezing and nothing more than leaf damage with browned pistils.

Was worried about losing them after growing for so long, then the prospect of potentially needing to buy from a dispensary was not cool.

The effect so far has been an initial relax to the body then an espresso type feel with the get up and go.

Really like it alot during the day. It does keep me awake if I smoke it too late. Have been trying it at different times throughout the day as a pick me up and it is working.

Seems to last longer than the super potent bud that I have tried. Plus there is not a foggy brain effect.

As far as munchies are concerned, don't seem to get that urge to snack. That is a plus for me.

The odor on the tall pheno has shifted to a sweet licorice smell. That is the scent reported by the breeder. Seems that the plant has to fully ripen to get there.

These have clearly filled out more and the scent is definitely attractive. Looking forward to the final product.

World of Seeds South African KwaZulu

This is the most excited for a plant that I have been yet.

Did a lot of searching and wanted a sativa type to try for effects. Went with this strain somewhat because of availability when it was ordered and reviews from various sources were mostly positive.

Supposed to be in the teens for thc and also has potential for thc-v among other sativa cannabinoids that I was hoping to try.

Heck yeah to KwaZulu. I’ve been growing it a couple years now and hoping I have some good seeds from some I just harvested.
I originally got Regular (non-femmed) seeds from World of Seeds via Seedsman. Been growing KZ from seed and clones since. I remember it cloned exceptionally easy and fast first time I tried.
I really enjoy the clean, uppy high, and the funky as smell from my first round was crazy- like someone fed a baby a bunch of berries and they pooped them out. Sounds weird but was a very unique and pungent smell that hasn’t quite been reproduced in my later growings.
I also really like growing it because it seems very few people have. Very sticky and pungent, with a high that motivates me.

Three weeks later these 3 girls are still shit, sagging, no growth, I've been busy with other stuff so kind of ignored them and had been giving them 1.0 ec max.

Finally took time to diagnose, the coco is sitting at 4.9 to 5.1 pH depending on pot.

The original rootball is still hanging on at 5.9 to 6.1 pH.

The issue?
Bought coco from a local rural grow shop that has just opened to try to supply the local medical growers.

Some of the supplies in this shop came from overstock and liquidation auctions.

I bought the coco he had that came from such a deal.

I didn't check pH or do a slurry for ec, never have before with prepackaged ready to grow coco.

Well something was wrong with this coco. End up having to pull the clones, rinse the coco, and buffer with a feed. Some damage was done on these 3 that can't be undone.

Thought about trashing them but decided to let them grow.
This Kwazulu I’ve grown always seems to prefer less nutrients than other strains I’ve had side-by-side, like Durban Poison from the same region

I've been smoking on this the last week or so and have gotten more piddly-ass shit accomplished than I have in weeks.

Really like the way the kwazulu works for me.

To be honest I wish everyone could find a strain that works for them like this.

You have a good thing going there. This strain is pretty cold and mildew resistant.
I just harvested a round that I started from my last seeds of ‘Zulu, that I was growing just to get more seeds. Started them just before Thanksgiving, and flipped while they were still small on Dec. 12, in a greenhouse with a SpiderFarmer light, and closet “damping”(warming) rods near the base. They survived many dips into the low ‘40s F, and the door blew open a couple times. Had 3 males, saved the best and pollinated the fems with it.
3 hermied, probably due to the light hours slowly increasing (I had to start tenting the small greenhouse around mid-March), but ended with one true female that never hermed, and has a great Kwazulu smell to it and plenty of seeds.
Dried some but planted a few seeds that have already sprouted- long-story, but I almost lost my most favorite and precious strain!
Please keep it going, and maybe some year you’ll want to trade and compare

Still hanging. At least another week as moist as these are still.View attachment 5118250View attachment 5118251
Very nice. I’m hoping my summer outdoor crop looks as fruitful as this. I’m not in the best outdoor growing area but did well for personal last year and I think my homemade soil and the environment lend to a distinctive character in the end.
Would love to try some indoor Kwazulu some time
