For one, when Rudy said there were emails but did not release the metadata so others can confirm their being authentic or not we probably would have had the data released. Also Trump had how many of his children in government positions, Jr even fundraising for Sr. Hunter did sweet FA working to get his dad elected. Hunter stayed out of the political sphere. Other than his dad being in politics he would not be on anyone's radar.How would this conversation play out if this was Trump Jr's laptop?

Sure, but that's a different question than whether or not the laptop is/was fake news. Hard heads like @captainmorgan still think it's all made up conspiracy stuff, because they were brainwashed to believe so, way back when it happened. This is the problem with censorship, like I said before, it's not about the lies getting out, it's about the truth that they are worried about.

Of course people would be worried about what is on the laptop as the republicans are trying to tar Joe with Hunter's failings as they have not managed to find dirt on Joe. How about if a political party smears your Reputation because of something your brother war involved in? There used to be gentleman agreements in politics back in the day but this batch of Republicans do not seem to know how to act civil to others trying to do the country's work.
