Is a reversal of Roe v Wade decision next?

I'm just now following the SCOTUS betrayal!

It don't matter if they think it was not decided correctly ( R V W ) it is a right we have had for fifty years!

Think about this.
Look at how long it took before Americans were okay with paying for T.V.
Oh you very young folk! Going back to when Roe V Wade was new we did not pay for T.V. Hell no!
It has taken decades to get us to Netflix which owes it's joy and acceptance to HBO! That was the Gateway Drug!

So look around and see what else is free and see how people react when the powers-that-be try and make people pay for what was free.
Abortion access was that "Free-stuff."
This is not a done deal with SCOTUS. This will not stop Abortions it will only make them unsafe and expensive.
For most poor women, women who are at an economic disadvantage to begin with, they will face the worst of it. They will die from bad abortions. They will be mostly Women of Color. Make no argument because that is the absolute truth of this Nazi Complaint group of five not so honorable men and a Woman who thinks the Handmaid's Tale is the right future for Women.

All we are doing is turning the clock back towards that idyllic concept of White Middle Class America.
That dog is dead!

Americans believe in Freedom. Repealing Freedoms, even from something that was considered non-political like SCOTUS, is not going to happen.
They can try. They can demand. They can go to Hell!

So we wait for June to see who lied to Congress. My Money is on Gorsuch ,Kavanaugh and Barrett.
The question was "Is Roe v Wade settled Law?" Their answers were "Yes it's settled law."

With today's technology you can track someones shopping habits and their travel with cell phones, that info is already being sold. How hard would it be to track a woman's menstrual cycle by her purchase of tampons/pads and see that stop and then she travels to a doctors office. If you think these religious nuts won't use that you're kidding yourself.

Back to the Basics of the Bible where Women are property.
The curious thing is that some women support that!
If Men also got pregnant Abortion rights would be in the Bill or Rights.

It's only the beginning, Alito makes it clear that Obergefell and Lawrence will be overturned. This means same sex marriage will be illegal again in 30+ states, and homosexuality illegal in 12. It's not if, but when. The religious nut jobs will try to turn this country into a theocracy.

It is, but that's what is on one side of the debate. When I look at an issue, I think its important to look at both arguments being made, I might not fully agree with one of them, but if the counter point is a hard fuck no, then it becomes pretty clear where I should sit. The push is to ban all cases of abortion, that's been the religious rights goal for a long time and they hold enough sway in the republican party that it is now their official view. Weird bed fellows and such.

Yes of course a 3rd hybrid option would be ideal (hegelian dialectic lol), but the reality of the world is just the two choices.
Well said, I agree it's important to look at all the perspectives.

The legal reality is those are the only two choices presently "allowed". Those two choices don't represent all the actual world possibilities in "reality reality" though.

Government could butt out and leave it up to the individuals involved. That's the 3rd option people seem to dismiss, but it's the one that will prevail. People will get abortions regardless of any prohibition on them. Just like people grew and continue to grow weed, under prohibition.

In most cases it should be up to the pregnant woman to abort her unborn child or not, since it's her body that is being "parasited" by the unborn.
Women are rightfully concerned about their bodily autonomy and their ability to make choices, but it bothers me that they don't see the unborn as having any kind of rights. That sounds like an argument of convenience. I don't like the normalization of killing the unborn, it seems to sanctify careless and cruel behavior. I'm not for that.

The question really is, do unborn have rights and if they do, at which point are they acquired? Ironically, if a person murders a pregnant woman, some people would say it's a double murder...wonder if those same people are hypocritically in favor of abortion?

When are you going to ban mixed race marriage, Supremes? It's not in the constitution. Is that uncomfortable for one of your own? I'm just asking questions. The American people deserve to know!

Hell has frozen over. I agree with you that laws restricting gay marriage etc. are bad.

Marriage licenses are a joke and when gay people "fight for marital rights", they should really be putting their energy into cancelling government marriage licensing for everyone.

Why gay people want to be equally oppressed by licensure the same way as straight people is kind of ironic.
Get government out of it entirely.

As a cucky whiteguy, you've likely never been refused a basic service like the right to marry, so of course it's no big deal to you.

The women of RIU should start a "We support mandatory vasectomies" thread and see how the cucks here react.

Not a good analogy.

Terminating a pregnancy potentially involves harming another being, capable of feeling pain. Possibly a being with rights.

A man's semen is by itself not going to feel pain, so please jack away all you want! It's your right to whack off!

If you have to get permission from government to get married, it's not a right, it's a revokable privilege.

Hey, why aren't you busy whacking off? It's your right!!

Except when people look to government to issue orders on who can and can't have an abortion, marry etc. it's an example that all people are in some way being used as government property.

Where'd you hear of Marriage licenses getting revoked? Same article as pregnant women "losing their minds" and stabbing their one bellies?

I would have to say what you describe as the third option is what the Democrats side is. It's not like they are mandating we suck out every 3rd fetus, their argument is that it should be an individual choice and people should be able to get it done safely rather than jamming a coat hanger up their butt (I grew up in the midwest, we don't get anatomy).

It really does boil down to that last paragraph. Some people see abortion as murder since that is a person with rights in all cases, some have a cutoff during the gestation period where it's a person/not a person, others are like yo let's choke it out if there is still a foot inside. To me, these are all personal views and shouldn't really impact the law...but there is also a valid argument that if you view the unborn as a person then it is murder.( *as an aside: it will be super interesting to see how something like trying people for murder over back alley abortions plays out as that would be a lot of friggin people charged with murder. Also, its funny that the hardcore religious voters will also have the belief that a parent has absolute right over their kid...but that it's a person with agency in the case of abortion).

I said government issues revokable privileges like with a marriage license. If you have to ask for permission, it's a privilege, not a right.

As far as revokable, don't you have to get permission to get legally divorced too? Isn't that a case of a marriage license being removed / revoked?
