Right on the 1st for all but the 2 smallest Balkhi. Seems to be the best timing for me to get them big enough to go in the ground in May, while not so big they really outgrow the keg cups - I don’t want to have to transplant into a larger pot in between.
Two years ago I started on St. Patty’s and put them in the ground too early, then had to dig them up and bring them back in for a couple of weeks when they hated the cold. Just messing with them an extra time negated any gain from starting mid-March.

Nice set up! Reminds me I have to get back there and get busy myself. If I may be forward, this looks like the perfect example of a " legal" set. Fenced in, I'm guessing a locked gate somewhere, out of view of public. These three things compose the basic rules, perhaps all the rules, oh, and 12 plants. Those 4 rules seem to be all. Compliments.

For sure the most part yes. It has several gates, all locked. Technically it’s not completely legal in my understanding the neighbors aren’t supposed see it either but they are both cool with it. I have a stockade picket fence on the road side of things but it gets too big and fence gets semi pointless. So trying to down size

I'm thinking of getting my soil from a local farm that specializes in compost.
If anyone would like to split a couple yards, let me know via conversation.
There are 202 gallons in a yard. 20 10 gallon pots, I really only need about half that, so if anyone wants the othern20 gallons, and has a truck and 30-40 bucks, give me a shout within the next couple days. Or I might just have it delivered.
Actually, only $25 bucks for 100 gallons if we split it. Depending on what younwant/need.

Can’t be visible to the unaided eye from a public place. Means drones and telescopes don’t count. I really think the only objection or complaint would be detectable odor but there isn’t any legalese that i can find on smell.

No I haven’t seen anything on smell but i think with the wrong neighbor they could make it a hassle regardless but I’ve been fortunate so far. One time ,and this isn’t bragging its semi idiotic, my neighbor had a yard sale and after him and his wife stopped to talk out front and they were laughing saying my garden got more compliments than their merch lol

Man did I almost seriously fuck my shit up. So, the organic soil I used was thick. I kept moving the cups and they felt heavy. Then I noticed they were acting weird, yellow tips folding up, I figured it was cold that was doing it, been 61-63 at night im afraid.
Then I realized the reason the cups were heavy was because I put STONES in the bottom of the cups. Thorough water and sunshine today spoiled them.

Love these, waterproof, work fantastic, inexpensive. Several different types, these are 'non-toxic' although I don't think the other ones are toxic. I usually put them out twice, once early, then again when in flower. I think these and Zerotol are my main plan for the season.
Ps I do have some BT, from two years ago, the "GOOD" stuff, haven't opened it but once to fill a wand sprayer. I'm surprised how many people think BT is a be all, end all, it is only good for caterpillars and worm type bugs, nothing else. So I don't really use it. Instead, along with the stickies, I constantly monitor the girls for any wiggles. Or eggs. Or a anything.
Last note, around here, we can only order lady bugs early, into late spring I think.
Thinking of raising a few for incremental releases.

Watered and put them in the sun yesterday and they are bery, bery, happy! That one plant just didn't wanna shake its husk, clinging to it for dear life, lol.
Plants are all established and accelerating into growth. Added stakes as they are top-heavy and a few got knocked over when I put them out once this week, although they weren’t harmed. Would like to get them in the ground by the 20th so the roots don’t outgrow the keg cups, but the long-range forecast doesn’t show any days even getting into the 70s by then so we shall see.
