nothing wrong with old school, hell i watch "fist of the north star" over the weekend

following that the "vampire in the garden" one nice story, good graphic, but very sad

did finish up "daily life of the immortal king season 2" that was good

also caught the next episode of the shield hero season 2, still don't get what they're trying to do

Fist of the North Star very good one might have to check that out this weekend and then we will go for let's see I think ninja Scrolls

Welp i got my crunchy back....took a bunch of email and bullshitting but i got it back.......

guess what i got to see

The greatest demon lord is reborn and comes back as a Typical Nobody..and it's not bad, just wish they would have add a little more to the story though

on the next day is watch "the strongest sage with the weakest crest".....hope they add another season to it

then the next day, i caught up on my shield hero (still kinda wondering on this one) and my tokyo ghoul (really getting into this one)

now if you wanna giggle in a since, i've watch Moonlit Fantasy before and it was dubbed in japanese (and it's not bad)what found was in the english dubb, now that made it funny

Yeah, that’s only 8.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes

Anyway: by this point last two seasons, I was down to two, three shows - the rest having petered out. This season - well, I’m watching ALL of these shows, and they’re all great in their own ways.

Romantic comedy is the theme for the season, with only one, Galactic Heroes, escaping any romantic sub-plot. I’m kind of amazed that so many semi-similar shows are able to keep up with Kaguya, which is currently owning hi-school romcom anime for the foreseeable future. Mind boggling how good it is, over and above genre; still, Shikimori and Cuckoos aren’t just holding up, they’re both strong. Shikimori is a slow burn, it seems too sweet, too saccharine at first, but after a few episodes to establish, it gets more complicated and interesting (still sweet, so far). Cuckoos, OTOH, has a screwball premise: kids swapped at birth are engaged to each other by their parents (trick or treat!). Most of the jokes aren’t as obvious as they could be, lots of twists, the whole thing is outrageous and fun so far.

All the other shows likewise have romantic subplots, tho they’re underplayed in Spy x Family (a real anime cartoon, if you catch my drift) & Skeleton Knight - a tired isekai trope, for sure, but played and written so well that it feels fresh as well as familiar (to me). And speaking of tropes, Trapped in a Dating Sim is a hilarious alternative to My Next Life as a Villainess, in which Boy upends everything just because he can - thereby re-setting the game and leaving him lost.

Dawn of the Witch revisits the world (and characters) of Grimoire of Zero, a show (and characters) I really liked; not a sequel, this intersects with the MCs from Grimoire, years down the road from GoZ. I like it.

Galactic Heroes is on a different page entirely, this is real interstellar warfare, and long-wave political intrigue. Very well done.

FWIW, LotGH, Kaguya-Sama are in season 3, both worth catching up on - ditto Shield Hero in S2. I won’t tell somebody *not* to just dive in, but the joy of Kaguya is increased by watching it continually top itself… it starts right from the beginning and just gets better & fresher. Shield Hero I would not like if I’d skipped S1. That simple.

one more thing…I know there’s sub fans & dub fans. I think the Japanese voice actors are maybe the best VA in the world, and they convey SO MUCH MORE context & content than the subs or English dubs by themselves can deliver. I don’t know of a show that shows this off as brilliantly as Kaguya.

Thanks for the suggestion...I was look for something new to watch this weekend. The spy oneand the skeleton have peaked my interest honestly. Come on June 6th, sandman on Netflix comes out....

In other news, I’m currently hooked on Kingdom…I always loved those pseudo-historical Imari)samurai / martial-arts movies (thank you, Hong Kong & Shaw Bros). Good story…35? eps x 5 seasons….

Keeps me busy when episodes are slow to drop…

I should honorably mention the honorable mentions for spring - there are some.

Nothing wrong with any of these, I enjoy them…compared to everything else in the pipe right now, these are gonna queue up and get binged; watching a few episodes of Science Fell in Love at once is better than just seeing one a week. It’s not that the story’s not interesting, it just ‘climbs’ differently through the episodes (same‘s true of Shikimori).

So hard to rank these. AMAIM is a generic mecha set in a Japan that’s been eiecemealed by occupying forces. Not really into mecha, but it’s not awful at all. Last Summoner is a Chinese effort tha has left me in the dark after 5 eps. Love After World Domination is based on the worst sort of meet-cute/awkward in history, I just haven’t been able to take the basic premise seriously at all.

Science Fell in Love is way too heavy and pretentious for me, but the fun is in watching the characters natural selves emerge despite their struggles. It’s not a waste of time…but more the sort of thing to cuddle up with for a couple of hours…so to speak. Aharon-San is in the same boat: the episodes are simple, but the base of the intereaction between characters keeps expanding; again, I think watching it more intently may open up the story.

Leaves us with Typical Demon-Lord Reborn as a Typical Demon-Lord (or something).

The main thing this has going for it is that it’s much less boring than last season’s Strongest Sage/Weakest Crest: better writing, tighter & better characterizations, more subplots, maybe even an actual opponent or two. Doesn’t mean it’s better just by comparison, it *is* better - but mostly for fun (the competing-girls thing is less interesting than usual)

welp cause of the heat, i just kicked back and watch some anime in the a/c

first one i finished the Moonlit fatasy, still a good one, hope they add more espisodes there is a lot of different directions it can go...

did touch shield hero this time, figure i would get a couple of episodes up, this way i didn't go "what" every time a new episode finishes

now did start Spy x Family....it's good, i'm only a couple of episodes in, strange thing is, i like it.....

another i did start as well Skeleton Knight one, this one i like overall.....nice story line....and it has some funny parts too....

oh i forgot to add the goodie to the bunch, it's an oldy, but it's a goodie
