Hey Folks,

Time for another round of growing! I germinated two C99 S1 from Duke Diamond’s vault. One was very tall and lanky with a spicy musk stem rub, the other was squat with a pineapple, allspice, musk, stem rub. I tossed the tall one and stuck with the latter. I transplanted her (verified female) into my 12 gal SIP that had cover crops (barley, crimson clover, and peas) growing in it for 60+ days. Prior to that I had a SFV OG x Stardawg from Greenpoint Seeds in it. I chopped it, sowed the cover crop and let the worms and pill bugs eat the roots of the previous crop. Top dressed with Dr. Earth’s homegrown 4-6-3 a couple weeks ago and the soil is recycled Coot’s Mix. Since last grow I have not disturbed the soil other than digging a hole for the transplant. I have not used coot’s nutrients as a top dress, mostly Dr Earth, homemade worm castings, various Down To Earth meals, ferments, insect frass, etc.

Here she is at 2 months, recently transplanted 5 days ago. I’m going to veg her for a couple of weeks, then flip. Humidity is not at the peak level for growth but not that far off. Soil is excellent, will top dress again in a week or so, then lay off higher nitrogen ratios.

Im looking forward to smoking this strain, I have been growing lot’s of OG variants and it’s time for something different. I grew this strain 4 yrs ago and even the poorest grow yielded some heady weed and beautiful bud structure. I learned some hard lessons last time around, time to produce something better.

Hey Folks,

Top dressed the gal with Dr Earth’s Fruit and Veggie fertilizer, bokashi, and insect frass. I also sprayed it with some citrus ferment as part as my IPM. She’s lookin’ really good and is on her way to flower. I have been training her more and clipping off lower nodes. She should be ready in another two weeks at the most. I’m planning laying cardboard down as a lid, unfortunately when I transplanted I put the stem left of center. So rather than using the lid, I’ll get some card board boxes and make a make shift one. Also I’ll be putting a little bit more mulch but just enough to cover the soil, it has enough organic matter.

Do y’all limit the amount of mulch in a no till situation? But about you folks who reamend by remixing, do you add any more sphagnum peat moss? Aeration?

Dang I think my first grow was some C99 about 15 years ago, maybe I should try to get some and run it again now that I have some experience.

Hey folks,

I built and installed a scrog a couple days ago, it’s a shame because I have had the parts for almost a year and never finished it. Im going to wait on initiating flower until all the tops poke out. I have eyed some lowers I’ll be taking for clones. The next seeds I pop were a freebie from Jinxproof called Sativa Scream, they’re supposed to have watermelon flavors and Jinx is known for his flavors and trich coverage. I think the C99’s pineapple and great high will be a good partner, so I would pollinate that as well as the other females. It won’t be a SIP grow… as far as I can tell, could change. That’s the idea though

Speaking of the C99 flavors, the pineapple is there on the stem rub, it’s more than subtle but not pronounced over others. There is some type of hippie/Indian musk that I can’t identify. The skunk fragrance has vanished, but it was a different type of skunkiness, no burnt rubber, or diesel. I’m hoping both of those fragrances, mostly the pineapple, show up in the final product.

Just one pic, but very rapid growth.

Scratch that stem rub description, it’s now a dull-er juicy fruit gum. It’s over two months old, prime time for full genetic expression.

Hey folks,

Things are truckin’ along. She has filled out the screen and putting out more nodes. She’s not much of a vertical grower but a horizontal one. I am going to flip her in the next seven days. The plan is to give her another feeding of Dr Earth’s 4-6-3, 1/2 gal of homemade worm castings, and some dried molasses I got for free. I got some hay I’ll be pasteurizing that I’ll use as a much then lay cardboard on top of that.

In the past grows, they have gotten too hot towards then end pulling out diesel, skunk, burnt rubber, and toasting the buds. Maybe they weren’t good cultivars, I got them from Greenpoint seeds. I’m looking to get a portable AC, so that should keep them down. Plus this plant isn’t very vigorous, so should have space for the roots to grow. I have 16-18” of head room left and the light is 20-22” above the canopy and it’s on it’s lowest power. I’m really looking forward to seeing what this plant produces

Hey Folks,

I put here in 29 hrs total darkness on Monday, and put her in 12/12 on Tuesday. I did some medium pruning that day, which might have not been a good idea, however there was a slight stunt (seemed like it, also could have been a shock from flipping) for a day then on to blowing up. That top dressing/watering really gave it some gusto. Also have a thick mulch has helped with breaking down nutrients. I don’t know if I have mentioned this, but this is a voracious herd of worms that live in that soil. Top dressings disappear in less than a week. Not to mention, have to keep adding straw because they feed on that as well.

I’m really digging the phyllotaxy on this strain. I’m going to either take clones or reveg It. It would be interesting to see what comes out when it’s crossed. It’s lineage is not “common” like you can get Jack herer and C99 at dispensaries, but with the different multitude of strains on the market, they are far and few between. I could very well be wrong.

Hey Folks,

About a week and a half of Flowering light cycle. No stigmas yet, but she’s really shouting and putting on weight in the stems. I’ll be top dressing with half Dr Earth Flower Girl and the 4-6-3 mix, a long with bokashi and EWC. I’ll water in with a banana FFJ and silicate. Tonight when the lights turn on, she’ll get a foiliar of rainwater and Water soluble calcium. Other than that just moving’ and grooving’

Happy 4th of July

Hey Folks,

She started showing hairs yesterday and has been in flowering light cycle for two weeks now on the day. Do you start counting days by first site of hairs on future bud sites (not preflowers) or when you first flip lights?

I gave her a foliar feed of WSC and banana FFJ, and top dressed with an inch layer of EWC, 1/3 grow nutes 2/3 flowering nutes, bokashi, kelp meal, and Roots Organics Cal-Mag. Did prune some bottom large branches and other branches that weren’t getting any light. I’m going to give it a rest for a handful of days then do some more

Happy Growing!

Hey folks,

Ending 3 weeks today, stretching has started to slow, but not done. Buds have set and are getting bigger, trichomes are appearing but no fragrance. Temps reached 86 last night, I’m in an area with consecutively high temperatures, so I’ll be purchasing a portable AC soon. Other than yesterday, temps at a high of 82.

I pruned quite a bit today, the last one for a while. It’s an experiment and with the ever decreasing lumens by the inch I believe it to be worthwhile. I also wanted space for buds not to be bunched up and have adequate space.

Here she is

Happy Growing

Hey Folks,

Week 5 started yesterday, she’s getting bigger and putting out more stigmas. When you rub the trichromes on the fan leaf, it’s smells very tropical-like. I’m seeing a handful of browning stigmas which seems a little early, but where I live has had some really hot temps. I bought a portable AC, and still gets hot. I’m starting to wonder if I’ll need a 6” in-line fan, because of the tent size (36”x36”x72”) the company recommended it. I thought I could get away with it, but I’m not so sure anymore. I also put air filters on the intakes, mostly for light leaks, but filtering the air is cool too. I’ll be top dressing at least one more time this weekend, who knows after that

Here’s also those Sativa Scream plants by Jinxproof, I know it’s not optimal but I’m trying to keep them small and healthy.

Hey y’all,

Started week 6 yesterday, getting a fruity smell on the buds. The rubbed trichomes smells amazing very distinctly sweet. The stems are starting to lean, I didn’t extent the scrog. When I purchased the parts I realized the elbow joints I bought didn’t have a vertical opening. I’ll get that up next grow. I’ll be too dressing it tonight with bloom nutes and sea kelp as well as dried molasses and bokashi. And watering it in with Banana FFE. I really need to transplant my Sativa Screams into bigger pots. I’d love to keep them in those solo cups, but I’m concerned they won’t be as healthy.

Hope everyone is doing well

Hey Folks

6 weeks down 4 more to go. I don’t believe she’ll be a large yield-er. She hasn’t shown signs of hunger and I believe I’ve given her enough, maybe too much. 3 days ago I top dressed her with 4 tbsp Dr earth 3-18-0, 4 tbsp kelp meal, a few handfuls of bokashi, 1/2gal of worm castings, and a bunch of pasteurized hay. I’ve been handwatering banana FFE and Organic Black Strap Molasses as well as liquid kelp ( I figured it’d be a couple of weeks till the kelp meal breaks down and nutrients are released). However some of the handwatering trickled down into the water reservoir and now the excess water smells like bad breath. I really hope that doesn’t mess up the plant.

Turned down the lights just a little bit. Last grow I toasted the tops a little bit, there are a few other contributing factors to that. I’m just going to make sure the tops don’t get zapped

She smells amazing, like mangoes, or orange skittles

Hey Folks,

Week 8 (Day 50) starts today and she’s really starting to bulk up. I read on the notes it’s a moderate producer and it seems like it. It also said she goes 63-70, I’m going to try and take her to 70. The bulking should continue, I’m not seeing any deficiencies, there are a few purple stripes. Although the buds aren’t huge, they are very tight. I turn on my dehuey right when the lights turn off but sometimes I miss it. In the past 48 hrs it got up to 68% which is not good. It wasn’t prolonged but still, I’ve done a good job of keeping her healthy and I’m sure her defenses are high. I’m going to set up a timer for the dehuey to go on when the lights turn off. Last time I grew her she got bud rot and suffered from cal problems. It was probably poor watering, I’m much better than what I once was. Temps are still getting up to 84-86.

Tonight I watered in Organic Blackstrap Mol, some peach FFJ that just finished, and liquid kelp. The smell I’m the triches are starting to get a rotten mango smell. I’m hoping she goes sweet, but we’ll see.

Happy Growing
